We stayed for a night to experience the stay which was highly praised by fellow travelers on various travel sites. The rooms very small and basic, but very tastefully and traditionally done. The staff was very courteous. The hotel is very close to the fort and the market area. The traditional rajasthani food was delicious. Everything about our 4 night stay was perfect. From our train station pick-up (even though our train was 6 hours late), the room, the food and organising a trip to the Amber Fort and Monkey Temple they couldn't have been more helpful. Wow what a stay! To start, the view over the hills and the surrounding lakes are stunning complemented by the various rooftops and balconies. The pool was very relaxing, while watching the local farm animals and inhabitant birds. The icing on the cake were the homestay owners and staff. This is not the Lake Palace: it is a traditional family-run hotel, with comfortable rooms, strong hot showers and good beds, set back from the lake (so you get breakfast views of the City Palace but not the lake), in a quiet area of Udaipur, yet still within easy reach of anywhere you'd wish to go. The staff were excellent, booking cars, sorting out ATM problems, and finding extra rugs in very chilly winter weather. Was one of only a very few guests and, perhapos because of this, but no complaints from me, I got absolute top treatment from the beginning. We stayed for 2 nights and booked 2 executive double rooms. The group staying included my elderly parents who have poor mobility. We did not book / upgrade to the premium executive rooms as we were told that there was a lift that could take us to the floor where our "executive rooms" would be. This hotel has character-a fairy tale castle.Quirky and interesting rooms,very comfortable beds.Good Rajasthani food.Very efficient staff,polite and responsive.Overall,an excellent place to stay and a wonderful place to spend an evening or two.

Brilliant location for the Taj Mahal and great price. Clean and comfortable night stay. Staff were friendly and happy to help accommodate any needs.
