"We stayed in a Double room (Point of View) at Düsternbrook and very much enjoyed the tranquility and the incredible view at the pool and our room & deck. The staff are all kind, helpful and happy to answer all questions. Whilst driving to the lodge we already spotted heaps of animals like giraffes, warthogs, all kind of birds, baboons, Kudus, springboks etc., so driving slowly pays off. "It's outrageous that Aloegrove has a rating less than 5 stars! If you are driving to Etosha or back from Etosha, stop at Aloegrove, and stay two nights. Aloegrove is a decent drive off the B1, but it is more than worth it. Johan and Ivy have build a marvellous lodge with Comanding views over the surrounding countryside. The luxury suites overlook the Waterberg plateau, and have an unobstructed view from the hilltop that Alloegrove occupies. The rooms have views of the plateau from the bathroom...

"The location is the big attraction for this hotel. The scenery is amazing. Climbing up the cliff for sunset and dining at the Eagle’s Nest restaurant was incredible. Accommodation was comfortable -there were a few dead bugs in our room , maybe it hadn’t been swept in a few days but it felt generally clean. Staff were responsive if asked, but (aside from staff at Eagles Nest) weren’t super friendly. Felt a bit like we were inconveniencing the staff when we ordered breakfast. Maybe she was just having an off day… "
