Our room was lovely, well-appointed and had a fantastic hot shower. We loved having lunch in the courtyard and breakfast on the terrace. The food was really good and well-priced. After 6 weeks in Guatemala, we can say this was our favorite hotel experience." The hotel is in the entrance of Antigua, so it´s about 4,000 steps from the Cathedral and the park (where restaurants and coffe shops are). Nice rooms (clean, TV, bathtub, etc). The Hotel has abot 3 museums inside. This hotel was build on a ancient catholic convent where monks and priests lived their religious life. There are catacombs with the remains of the people that lived there. Trully, the only real 5 star hotel in Central America." The grounds are exceptionally well kept, the staff are super helpful and friendly, and the views are one of a kind. The steps to climb are steep but there are many staff available to help you carry your luggage. The room was small but it didn't matter because we much preferred to spend our time exploring the property. The dinner was delicious and we also loved swimming in the lake. I cannot preface enough that this hotel is a MUST stay when visiting Lake Atitlan, even if just for one night.
