Needless to say, I asked for another room and the staff were good about getting me a better room. The second room was very good. I did not try the pull out bed but it was fine to use as a couch. Linens and towels were fine. Bathroom was very good, shower worked very well. Kitchenette was rudimentary, microwave, tiny fridge, a kettle. Light over the sink did not work. The room was clean but needs a deep clean (like most hotels). Looking at the baseboards in the bedroom and the caulking in the bathroom revealed the need for a deeper clean. The front lobby is beautiful- soaring ceilings, amazing marble floor and walks, but not a chair in sight. One of the highlights of this hotel is their oak panelled living room, with stations for people to work on a laptop as well as a few tables and comfortable chairs and a couple of conversation areas. This room is set up tightly (close quarters) so you’re unlucky if there is someone holding forth doing a business meeting online or a loud group chatting who seem oblivious of the presence of others. Excellent coffee/espresso machine, teas and hot water are complimentary in this room. Access by key card to the living room. The staff were polite, pleasant and accommodating.
