"Such a lovely hotel, situated on a quiet, beautiful beach. All staff here and at the sister hotel a short walk away were amazing, with a special mention to Rosin and Nedmina (sorry I couldn’t quite remember your full name!) We loved being able to swim in the sea just outside and walking along the beach. A great, comfortable base for exploring the South Coast. Lovely food too-eating on the beach was a real treat!"

"I left my heart in Talalla Retreat. Incredible staff who were so welcoming and hard working, the Retreat itself is stunning. I had an upstairs bedroom so was able to fully enjoy the surroundings. "Such a lovely hotel located right on the beach, I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to be slightly outside of Hiriketiya. Due to its location it is very quiet and peaceful. There are sun loungers on the beach as well as by the pool. It is super easy to get into the main town by tuktuk or a 30 minute walk. The staff are lovely and so attentive if you need a bite to eat I would recommend their pizza which are delicious. We loved our stay here and would 100% come back! "

"The place is situated close by all the relevant beaches, especially Hiriketiya and Nilwella beach. It is about 10-15 minutes to get to hiriketiya road where most of the shops/resturants are. Its calm and tranquil at this place, away from the busy scene at hiriketiya road yet not to far to get there when you want. Space to park if u have tuk tuk, scooter etc. The rooms are cozy and clean. "Nice and comfy room. Beautiful garden with many beautiful birds and other wildlife. Close to the beach. Plus is for the distance to Galle Road (which is very noisy). The dinner was good, but far from great. The curry’s are way to salty. Same as for the breakfast (don’t try the chocolate pancakes). Beautiful place and very friendly staff. - Big minus for the hotels own landfill that you see if you take a walk outside the fences. They should really clean that up. Not ok! "

"Property was very close to the beaches. Room was clean and really lovely, however right beside a main road so lots of noises during the evening. Private pool was in fact not very private and anyone could walk by at any moment. Lovely service and the people were great, we didn’t have any food so cannot comment. "

We came on our honeymoon and are leaving feeling like we want to revisit soon! The pools are really lovely also, and the beach (although rocky) is really nice. "Our stay at Ivory Resort was fantastic. The room was comfortable, spotless, and had everything we needed. The hotel sits on a beautiful stretch of beach and the pool area was peaceful and perfect for relaxing. The breakfast was the best we have had in Sri Lanka with fresh ingredients and great choice. The staff were outstanding and incredibly welcoming. They helped with anything we needed and helped arrange our laundry. A special thank you to Kavindra for the warm hospitality and helpful local tips. We also had lunch at the hotel and the food was exceptional. The fried sea bass and prawn curry were cooked to perfection. Overall, a wonderful experience and we would highly recommend staying here. They also kindly allowed us a late check out which we really appreciated. "
