We started here three times and felt as if we were coming home each time. The staff were great and made every effort including booking taxis and helping get our preferred room choice. My only compliant is so small - but, as a vegetarian I was unable to enjoy their apparently delicious scrambled eggs as they were put in the same container as the meat. I have not encountered this anywhere else so mentioning it in the hope it might get changed for others.

The house we rented in Tunquen is a magical place indeed.
The view right on the cliff edge can entertain you for weeks, so does the remoteness and the fact all you hear is birds and the waves of the sea. We stayed 4 nights and were grateful to have shopped in a bigger supermarket near Santiago, as there really isn’t much around there apart from some very small shops with some essentials, but for me that was all part of the charm.
The house is nicely decorated and clean everywhere….apart from...

This is a fabulous but expensive all-inclusive resort facing a dry river bed near San Pedro de Atacama but isolated from it. The rooms are luxuriously appointed and the facilities are excellent - there are 6 pools! There is a spa and spacious public areas as well as a balcony for each room. All meals are included and the food is excellent. You get two half-day or one full-day excursion per day included in the cost and these range from easy (such as being carried by car with small walks) through...

Couldn’t fault the hotel. They were very accommodating and the staff everywhere were incredible, Patricia in the restaurant was fabulous and really helpful. Great location. Very spacious room.

Most importantly- the hotel breakfast! Which was amazing. And after a long day of walking the beach to get into down (because you’re about 7km from downtown, more on the beautiful beach side) the hot tub was also amazing to sink into and ease my legs.
I had one concern when a maid did not lock my room door after cleaning it, which I reported to Reception. As a solo female guest, I found this a safety concern. But the woman at Reception agreed with me and said she’d tackle it. The radiator in...

A haven of peace and tranquility. It was a real privilege to be here. The traditional building has been beautifully restored with very interesting internal decor. The staff are super-helpful. Thank you, Matildas, for 2 memorable visits.

Good value option. The guy who runs the hostal clearly loves his work. He couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful to me. I couldn’t have been made to feel more welcome.
