We arrived early in the morning after an overnight train with a sick traveler. Our room wasn’t ready but they let our sick traveler rest for the day in one of their basic rooms reserved for sick travelers. The location is just what we wanted, in a quieter part of town that’s easily walkable to the more crowded areas. We found a great coffee bar just down the street as well as a local grocery store to get supplies and a selection of lovely candies and treats. Sapa is so humid that it was hard to dry anything in the wet bathroom, but the room was spotless and the front desk spoke great English. They were very helpful and understanding throughout our stay. The breakfast was fabulous and the buffet room was sunny and bright. For the price range of this hotel, it was a great value. First off, the property is top tier. Every nook and cranny is interesting (sometimes creepy) but very on theme and lovely to look at. The room had a nice size, big comfy bed, and lovely bathroom with all the amenities. Location is outstanding. Right in the middle of the town so you had easy access to all the coffee shops, restaurants and public transportation. This includes the funicular up to Fansipan! And the hotel offers a fast pass service for guests (for a fee). The food? Insane! The breakfast buffet had everything you could ever want AND they do change it up slightly after a few days. The highlight of this property for me was the pool and the gym. Prob the best pool I’ve ever swam in, in my life. Just so architecturally beautiful. And the service? Exceptional! Every single staff that I’ve encountered was nice and helpful. Overall really happy with my stay here and would consider going back (if only the trek up to the city didn’t take so long). However when we went to our room our door was wide open and the bathroom floor was wet as if someone had gone and had a shower in there. The staff were very helpful and took us to another room which was great! Lots of mold on the wall and the room is very small. A few stains on the bed sheets but everything else seemed clean. The hotel itself is extremely noisy. We stayed there for two nights and both night there was screaming and shouted all throughout the night so I wouldn’t recommend if you want a quite chill place to stay. Overall it was a good stay. The staff were lovely and very attentive. It truly has been an immersive experience in the beautiful and peaceful countryside. The bungalow style suites consisted of comfortable, cozy beds and bedding which includes all the necessities that any hotels can offer. The suite felt like an haven of relaxation and provided us with great privacy. We particularly enjoyed waking up and sitting on the porch overlooking the views while sipping on coffee each morning or reading a book midday. The property itself is adorned with traditional wooded panels and lamps. It was also a treat to see and spend time with the country animals roaming around the area each day. The home cooked meals prepared by the host were also so deliciously made and generous in portion. My partner and I felt it tasted far better than many of the meals we tried at the restaurants in town. Above all, the host and his family were so lovely and kind. They are so dedicated in their craft and maintaining their property as great hosts. Our stay at Sapaxa Spring Garden Ecolodge has made a lasting memory. It was such a calming and peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. We highly recommend for anyone who's looking to escape from the crowdedness of the town and recharge in a calming and traditional atmosphere that Sapa has to offer under the care of such wonderful hosts!
