It was just the getaway we needed and was a very peaceful visit. It was very comfortable inside with a ton of character, and a nice “grandparents cabin” feel to it, but with some modern upgrades. The property was great for our son and dog to freely run around in, and we took a nice walk along the nearby wooded trail that follows a nearby creek that can take you right into the national forest.My son played pool and ping pong non-stop so that was a big hit for him. The cable TV worked great and we had no issues with the WiFi. Two small things to be mindful of: 1) I did not have cellphone service with AT&T when I got about 5 miles from the house (which I welcomed) and 2) when it’s windy the tin roof can make it sound like there is a storm occurring in the distance outside (but we had no problem sleeping through it as we slept very well).Thanks again for having us. We are very happy with our visit!" It was spacious and clean, and I imagine with a few more books and games around the place and the woodstove lit, it would be a very cozy winter hideaway. We did run into some issues that were probably the product of not having enough work to make the place ready yet- there were consistent issues with the door lock not letting us in with the code and requiring a lot of messages back and forth. We also experienced a shower leak that knocked out the water for a bit. Shane and Eve were very responsive but it was still inconvenient that these things were going on. Hopefully any remaining issues with the cabin will continue to be resolved for future guests, because the place seems promising. I definitely want to recommend Shane and Eve for being extremely attentive to our needs during our stay."
