Bring food and cook for a crowd! Main floor: Bedroom has a king bed with full bath, laundry, living room, dining area. Lower level: Bedroom with 2 full beds, family room with 2nd wood burning fireplace and there is a trundle bed in this open area which we show as 2 twin beds. Full bath on this level as well. Large flat screen Tv\`s on both levels. What\`s Included All our cabins come with all linens and towels. We also provide one roll of paper towels and one roll of toilet paper per bathroom. A small amount of cleaning supplies as well as a few trash bags, dish detergent, laundry detergent and a sponge are also provided. Community Powder Horn Mountain is a private gated community. All guests have free access to the community pool seasonally open May to September. Fitness center at the clubhouse, playground, fishing in three community lakes (please bring your fishing poles!). No permit is necessary in the community, but if you want to fish the state stocked Elk Creek you will need one. Miles of community hiking trails with well marked signage and a map in the cabin. Make sure you check out the campground that sits on laurel creek and is the perfect spot for a night time fire pit and s\`mores or a game of horseshoes. Maybe an afternoon picnic! There is a tennis court and half basketball court and disc golf course that you can access at the post office. There are community paddle boats available for free on the lake by the clubhouse during the warmer months and they are first come first serve! You are welcome to bring your own kayak or canoe and set in at Penny Lake as well! Penny Lake is the lake at the clubhouse. Location This house is located in Powder Horn Mountain in Deep Gap, NC. (103 Cheery Lane, Deep Gap) We are about 25 mins to Appalachian State and King Street in Boone but only about 13 miles. We are about 18 -25 miles to all the ski resorts or about 45 mins to an hour. Blowing Rock and Banner Elk are each about 35-40 mins from our front gate. The Blue Ridge Parkway is about 7 miles away with an access point at the top of Elk Creek Rd on old 421\. The closest grocery store is Food Lion located at the intersection of 421 and Old 421 across from Tractor Supply. Nearby: Elk Creek is just outside the front gate of Powder Horn and is a state stocked trout stream this is an anglers paradise make sure you get your fishing license but you will find it is some of the best fishing around! Local wineries and breweries abound including Appalachian Mountain Brewery, Booneshine Brewing, Grandfather Vineyards, Banner Elk Winery and so many others. So much to do!!!! Make sure to also check out the Lil\` Hidden Creek Gem mine located about 1 miles past the back gate of Powder Horn. Call ahead and they will get mining buckets ready for the little ones! Side Notes Firewood for the fireplaces can be ordered for $10 per bundle prior to arrival. We do recommend getting groceries prior to getting to your house either in Boone, Lenoir or North Wilkesboro. It was in close proximity to the clubhouse, lake and pool. The only thing that we didn’t like was the pool was closed for a private event and we weren’t told about that until a short while before it was closed. We were out doing other things and planned to swim in the evening. So that should have been told like early that day or the day before. Kids were disappointed not to swim our last evening there! ##### Carol E. The communication before, during and right before check out was fantastic. They gave very thorough check in and check out instructions, making both processes seamless. The cabin was clean and very well stocked. The manager of Moonlight Cabins did not miss a single detail. There was plenty of towels, blankets, games, books, etc. and a large binder with information about the property/community and all the attractions and local activities. The beds were very comfortable and there was even an extra fluffy blanket put under all the comforters so we’d stay warm during the night. My kids were especially grateful for that nice touch since they were sleeping in the basement. The decorations and furnishings were all very nice, stylish yet still homey. I really have nothing bad to say or any suggestions to make! It was a wonderful stay. ##### Courtney M. It was very quaint, had all the necessary items you would need, and was the ideal mountain cabin. Our son especially liked the ponds where we could go fishing and paddle boating.
