In its history it has been a baker’s and confectioner's shop, a drapery and fancy goods shop and a provision and cooked meats store! This beautifully decorated 3 bedroom holiday home is perfect for families, or friends looking for a break to escape reality by the calming coast. Dogs are more than welcome, the owners have kindly requested that dogs are not allowed upstairs and there is a stair gate installed for that purpose. The décor has a homely nautical feel throughout the three floors, perfect theming as it is located parallel to the seafront. The location is brilliant, as well is being a pebble throw away from the sea, Deal high street is only a minute's walk away. The moment you step into Dexter's House you will feel totally at home. The 3 bedroom cottage has been very thoughtfully decorated throughout, with colourful artwork, comfy fluffy cushions and attractive furniture. The cottage is an ideal place to visit any time of the year. In the winter you can light the log burner in the sitting room to make it warm and cosy; in the summer you have a wonderfully pretty courtyard garden, where you can enjoy total privacy with seating and a BBQ. Ground Floor Upon entering the property you step into the cosy sitting room, housing stylish furniture, a log burner, smart TV (with Netflix) and a large comfy corner sofa - ready for those snug evening's in front of the fire. A step down takes you into a light dining area / kitchen with seating for 6\. There are large patio doors from the kitchen to the private courtyard, providing beautiful natural light into the kitchen throughout the day. The well-equipped kitchen is fully fitted with induction hob, oven, dishwasher, microwave and washer/dryer - everything you need for preparing home cooked meals for the family to enjoy. From the sitting room there is an archway which opens to a winding staircase taking you to the: First Floor A good-sized light bedroom at the front of the house with a king size bed - (The mattresses on all the beds are Emma mattresses - luxury mattresses voted by Which guide as the best mattresses of 2019.) The room is filled with beautiful furniture and storage with built in cupboards that house plenty of hanging space. Carrying on from the landing you step into a large relaxing bathroom in the eaves at the back of the property with a lovely big bath and overhead shower. Just past the bathroom is another light, airy bedroom with a cosy feel. Two single beds and storage space perfect for children or friends. Second Floor A lovely bright master bedroom with a comfy chair by the window to take in the sea views to one side and views of the street on the other - a perfect spot to take time out and read a book. Again this bedroom has been beautifully decorated with stylish furniture, plants and artwork. This master bedroom also houses a gorgeous en-suite shower room, with hand basin and a WC. Additional information There are two Echo Dot's in the property - one in the kitchen and one in the master bedroom so guests can listen to the radio/music of their choice in these rooms. The house was light, airy, warm, comfortable and clean. The stairs are steep but made easier with grab rails along the way. Both bathrooms were spotless, and the bedrooms comfy. The beach was less than a minute in one direction, and the Saturday market in the other. We booked this last minute when other holiday plans fell through and we feel as though we got so lucky! Booking was a breeze - Amy in the office patiently answered all my questions and sent me extra information on the area and places to visit as we’d never been before. Dexters House is a gorgeous 1780s built 3 storey home full of character and beautifully presented. It was immaculately clean, had all the things we needed plus extras that we greatly appreciated like the Echo Dot speakers and the cupboard of board games. We spent most days out and about as we were blessed with warm, sunny dry weather throughout our stay, but the house was a comfortable retreat after a day of sightseeing or relaxing on the beach. It’s so conveniently located, a 2 minute walk to the sea front and 5 minutes into the High Street. There’s plenty to see and do within easy reach - we have more than enough things left for another visit to be justified! Thank you to the owners for creating such a lovely place to stay, and to Keepers Cottages for making it so easy to arrange and always being there if needed. We will be back!
