The whole of the place said disaster to us. The staff were very rude. They also didn’t even give a smile. The cleaning of the room was absolutely terrible. The inside of the cupboards where you put your clothes were all drips of coffee the pigeons you couldn’t open the window as they were just sat outside watching when we asked for help nobody seemed to have a clue what was going on. I am totally disappointed in the whole of the hotel itself. The pigeons were eaten off the table in the bistro. The pool was out of order. The lift was not working and nobody seemed to give a damn about anything the pool outside the actual covers that they gave you to sit on was full of human poo they were absolutely filthy. I just don’t know what to say about this hotel but I feel as though I have wasted my my whole money was hotel I have ever stayed in in my life.

We had been traveling for about 18 hours when we finally arrived at the hotel. We were treated warmly and our room was ready even though we were there before check-in time. The room had a view of the water, was very clean, had tea and coffee in the room, along with biscuit snacks. The bathroom had a lovely shower, however it was impossible to keep the water inside the shower due to its design. We enjoy a full English breakfast which was delicious and more than enough. The hotel is in town, so very convenient to get around.

We don't normally send 'bad' reviews but contact the hotel directly if we have an issue so this is unusual for us. We booked 2 nights at the Cliffden Hotel but the room we were given was very small, which normally wouldn't be a problem, but was unbearably hot and we could barely open the window on the hottest day of the year. We knew immediately we couldn't stay there but we're told they were full so couldn't offer us an alternative room. We spoke to one of their management team and left after 10 minutes
