    First thing to note when planning a trip to Daufuskie Island is there is NO Bridge. To reach Daufuskie Island you must book a ferry, water taxi or come by your own boat. Once on the island you’ll need grounds transport from your arrival dock to your JonBie Maisons vacation home. JonBie Maisons has options listed for both ferry/water taxi and transport providers and will be happy to make recommendations based on your travel arrangements.

With the soothing sound of waves as your soundtrack, relax in coastal comfort and gather around the fire pit for memorable evenings under the stars. Escape to our haven offering an unforgettable retreat by the sea.

    This premium cottage has it all. Situated on the ocean-front row of Daufuskie’s beautiful Avenue of Oaks, Beach Break guests will look to the Atlantic Ocean beach from the screened-in front porch. The cottage has a wonderful location, and cottage guests will be just steps away from the pristine Melrose Beach .

    The interior of the cottage is open and spacious living/dining/kitchen area that is great for family and friend time. The cottage includes flat screen TVs and DVD players in the living room and both bedrooms. WIFI is Free during your stay. The kitchen is fully equipped with service for 8 or more with full size appliances, garbage disposal, dishwasher, and a stocked Coffee/Tea Bar, making meal preparation easy for you and your family throughout your stay - even Holidays!

    Washer and dryer in cottage to make island life more convenient and comfortable; and there is a high chair and pack & play for your infant and toddler needs.

    A golf cart will be included with your booking Information for reserving additional carts will be provided at booking.
    GAS CARTS ARE STRICTLY PROHIBITED AT ALL JONBIE COTTAGES & VILLAS and Carts are NOT to be used for hauling luggage, coolers, groceries, etc.

Great Location, Great Property

Beach Cottage

We absolutely loved our stay at the beach cottage at Melrose. The cottage is clean and very well furnished, and offers great views of the ocean and Hilton Head Island. The whole D'fuskie Island experience is extremely relaxing. The people are warming and inviting. Everything is a short golf cart drive away.

Discovered Dafuskie island

The home was very comfortable and had everything you’d need. I would recommend bringing groceries. Loved the easy walk on the beach and touring the island on golf cart. Thanks for great communication too!

Great Stay as always

The logistics of getting to a bridge-less island makes getting here a bit more challenging than some other more traditional vacation spots but it is well worth the extra effort. Property manager is super helpful. She answered all our questions, eased our transportation concerns, and helped us make our time very high quality. Love the cottage vibe and can't wait to come back.

Daufuskie

Nice place to stay. Beach is about 100 yards from the back door. That’s about as close as you can get in that area. The golf cart travel is awesome. Kids loved swimming in the ocean. We would do it again.

1st trip to Daufuskie

The views and access to the beach are spectacular! The home came with a very nice golf cart that became our main means of transportation while on the island. The interior of the home has nicely appointed finishes and the management company was great to deal with. We would definitely rent from JonBie in Melrose again!

Fabulous week

This was our first time to Daufuskie Island, and I am so glad we made this trip! It was the most relaxing beach experience we have ever had… And the cottage could not have been more convenient. We will come again! Our only negative is that there are no vegetarian options on the dining out menus… Thankfully, we had packed our meals.

Excellent House with Excellent View!

We absolutely loved our stay, even though we were here during Hurricane Debby! The house is beachfront and the beach was so nice and quiet. A true retreat away from the crowds. The house is well-stocked with everything we needed (even lanterns for when we lost electricity during the hurricane). We enjoyed the restaurants on the island, Sportsman's Pub, Melrose Oyster House and The Old Daufuskie Crab Company. The Freeport General Store has essentials and souvenirs, and is worth a visit. We met many locals and really loved the feel of the island. We will be back!

What a STUNNING cottage. Truly lovely and beautifully appointed. Our only difficulty is that the master bedside tables would be well served to have a pre plugged in nightstand charger box. Plugging things in required moving the mattress. My only other suggestion would be a much better guide for first time visitors. It was a bit difficult to navigate from the older Jon Bie online info, as some things have changed, some restaurants are out of business, and the transport TO the island and on the island was a bit confusing. I'm not sure of the dock just before Hilton Head would be more navigable, but we used Island Head. PHEW what a WALK to the boat it was! We were careful to read reviews that told us to bring one carry each, and a cooler between the two of us, but we are a bit older and the walk was WOWOWOW. I'm not exactly sure what the staff of that line did, as the HHI pick up crew did assist with a trolley for luggage to the boat. But the drop off was totally on us to get our things off the boat, and up up up the long line of ramps. I also used the suggested on island transport from the Jon Bie guide, but that transport called and cancelled us as they don't pick up from that dock. We decided to drive in early day one and try to find on island transport before getting on the boat over. None of this pertains to the HOUSE, but as a first time visitor, I hoped for more info, and also hoped there would be a guidebook to the island at the house to learn more.

Phenomenal long weekend on Daufuskie with friends and we met many local residents. Everyone there is so friendly and helpful. The island is beautiful. Home and location were perfect. Our ferry was delayed due to weather and Tammy at JonBie Maisons was so helpful and accomodating. Will definitely be returning!
