Good value for money and the place is good enough. Security guard at the entrance so that felt good. Very helpful and nice staff and security. Central area but not a place to stay for long in my opinion.

Basic accommondation in the heart of Dar

New Avon Apartments provided us a good accommondation for our 2-day-stay in Dar. The location is ideal; good food, the zanzibar ferry, bus stations and the city center all in walking distance. The apartment itself is fairly simple but it has all basic necessities (big bed, bathroom, small kithenette and nice views to watch the hassle of the city). The check-in and check-out times were flexible.

Kostengünstige Unterkunft zum Selbstversorgen. Das muslimische Viertel ist sehr sicher, alle achten darauf, dass einem nichts passiert. Der Hotelmanager ist nett und es war gut so in Tansania anzukommen.

Nice Hotel

Overall, the hotel was nice. We were o lay there for one day so it wasn't that big of a deal. The room was way too small to be a triple. The hotel staff also never mentioned that you have to turn on a switch to get hot water. The phone didn't work so we had to go down to ask. They also only had two sets of towels for three people so we had to get more. Breakfast was included, but the food was tasteless. It's very close to the port which is good for the ferry to Zanzibar. The wifi worked well.

Good value hotel with very friendly staff

New Avon is conveniently located downtown within walking distance of restaurants and shops, Zanzibar ferry etc. Its not the high end international luxury style hotel, but is priced accordingly. Comfortable, clean, internet is free and works in room, breakfast is decent, staff are very friendly. I would recommend to travelers to dar es salaam that are looking for the middle ground between budget and luxury accommodation.

Det var et kort opphold I forbindels med mellomlanding I Dar es Salaam, så det er ikke mye å melde bortsett fra at rommet jeg fikk var lite komfortabelt og trengte oppussing. Dårlig beliggenhet I en trang sidegate. På en eller annen mate hadde det fått en stjerne for mye

Angenehm überrascht !

Ich habe das Hotel nur für einen Aufenthalt von sechs Stunden genutzt um etwas zu schlafen, daher kann ich zur Umgebung nicht viel sagen. Taxi Kosten vom Flughafen aus 15 EUR. Personal sehr nett und freundlich. Ich hatte von keinem das Gefühl abgezockt werden zu wollen. Übrigens auch nicht vom Taxifahrer. Im Großen und ganzen alles recht sauber und gepflegt, man darf nicht vergessen, dass man sich in Westafrika befindet und nicht in Dubai oder Qatar ! Zimmerausstatung siehe Bilder ! Alles war sauber und für eine Nacht, würd eich hier jederzeit wieder buchen.

Das Hotel bietet Flughafen Transfer für US$ 25 an. Zimmer und Dusche waren sauber (für Afrika) aber leider war das Restaurant am Abend wegen einer Grundreinigung geschlossen. Wir haben was bestellt und es kam 2 Std. später. Trotzdem ist das Personal hilfsbereit. Tipp: Zimmer in einer der oberen Etagen reservieren lassen (wir waren in der neunten von zehn Etagen)

Should be rated as 3 star at best, or maybe 2 star

Rooms are very small and don't look anything as nice as the pictures. We had broken items in the bathroom and no Toilet paper. Had to ask for more. Linens were not very good quality and beds very hard. Breakfast was average at best with a very limited selection of fruits, breads and cereals. They only had instant coffee. Staff at the front were friendly but not the breakfast waiters.

Fairly new hotel in town.

The hotel was in good condition and clean. Breakfast was not as good as most hotels in this price range, but ok. Food pretty good. Rooms clean and great showers! The staff was friendly and helpful. Wifi worked in my room - which is an unusual benefit.

Hotellets standard varierade

När vi anlände på kvällen satt det en tjej i receptionen som var riktigt trött, slaskigt klädd och förmodligen påverkade av diverse ämnen. Hon var extremt ointresserad av att hjälpa oss på något vis och väldigt oengagerad överhuvudtaget. Hon var så väck att jag undrar om hon ens förstod att hon checkade in oss. NEN, på morgonen och förmiddagen efter fanns det bra personal på plats som var väldigt seriösa och hjälpsamma, därav får hotellet ett medelbetyg då kvälls/natt personalen hade fått -1 om hotels haft det på betygsskalan och dagtidspersonalen hade fått en stark 5a. Perfekt hotell att stanna till vid men tror inte det passar för en veckas semester.
