Old and 2nd hand smoke hotel
This hotel is quite old; however I expected some kind of Japanese service. To my disappointment, the staff would rather chat with other, but not help me to get the luggage out of the taxi. The breakfast buffet is also disappointing, with very limited choice. The fruit is not fresh, and the coffee machine is run down. Very poor air quality in the room. You can have 2nd hand smoke every day, leaking from the air conditioner.

Good value, friendly staff, nice hotel
The employees were friendly and helpful. I was upgraded to an executive floor room which was very spacious and comfortable. There were some visible wall/ceiling repairs and carpet stains but otherwise in good condition. I requested a late check out which they accommodated. Big breakfast selection. I would definitely stay there again.

The service was very good, as a royal one harmony member, they upgraded my room and gave me a birthday cake, I want to say thanks to the people at Nikko Dalian hotel.

an excellent 5 star standard hotel
The location is central in town. The service and facilities are 5 star standard. of course, we were upgraded to executive floor as member and the room was excellent. Breakfast spread was good too so much so that u could not sample every item. staff provides good service and not intrusive. location is convenient downtown but tourist destinations are some distance away, so it's more a business hotel. The old tram stops in front of the hotel, parking is convenient but may be charged. The free drinks promised were not provided, although early check in was. Overall a good restful stay.

Check in is fast, the room is clean and they arranged me a non smoking room which I needed. The room service staff is friendly and helpful all the time. The only disappointed thing is one of the female front desk staff attitude is negative while I ask for something .

Hotel room a bit small compared to others.
Quiet, clean but a little small room compared to other top-line hotels we stayed in. Windows were clean. Wasn't aware of swimming pool and other facilities we didn't have time for.

The rom is clean and comfortable, but the room condition is getting old, the bath room supplies are not fullly refilled, the service is not as friendly either, for one harmony royal member used to get upgrade, but now there are almost no benefit at all

4 star hotel at a slightly more economical price
Nikko hotels tend to be very well maintained, as was this one. Focus on details means very unlikely to encounter complaints about the room. The building itself seems getting old, but actual rooms are all fine. Location is good ... though a bit less so than those right on RenMin Road. That's because 2 blocks behind the hotel are the railroad tracks, so along the tracks the establishments get a bit low end, so one is unlikely to find food or other establishments where a tourist or businessperson would want to enter. That said, going forward from the hotel entrance you go right to the heart of the city. Net, as long as the rates stay ~US$15 less than other 4 star chains, it's a good deal to stay here, even if location is slightly less convenient than right on Renmin Lu.

Generally found this Hotel well positioned in the city, friendly staff and clean rooms. Found the Reastaurant's within the hotel a bit of a disappointment but overall a pleasant place to stay

Good location, great value
Overall a very good stay. The hotel is right in the centre of the business district and close to the 'Russian street' which is full of old colonial buildings and makes for an interesting afternoon wander. The staff made some good recommendations for local restaurants serving good seafood and were courteous each time we asked questions. Good strong shower, huge rooms with big windows. The gym, sauna/steam room area was great but the temperature of the swimming pool was too low. Additionally, having to wear a swimming cap in a hotel that professes to be 5 stars is a bit ridiculous and kind of... 1970's. Breakfast has a giant selection of Chinese and Western food but lower your hopes for the standards. Bread/patisserie items not great, no fresh orange juice, but eggs cooked to preference, nice fresh yoghurt and acceptable coffee.

In the city centre, has some good restaurants, dim sum buffet was good, has sauna and an indoor pool. Excellent view from higher floors, was on 25th.
