We travel a lot and that is the first time ever a hotel hasn't offered anything. Hoi An is amazing for food and culture - and this place is cheap for a more luxurious treatment (for a backpacker). The location is quite and so easy to get to all the old town sites. You can hire bikes directly from the hotel to explore and also if up for a long cycle head out to the beach and surrounding villages. The breakfast was a great selection and the staff so attentive I really can't recomend staying at this place in Hoi An enough. Across the road there was a building site and if the curtains were not drawn completely (leaving room dark and needing a light) they could see right in. Restaurant was absolutely terrible! I ordered garlic bread from the menu and was given 2 pieces of dry old toast (I'm sure was left over from breakfast hours earlier) with big chunks of garlic inside. I asked the lady what it was, explaining it wasn't garlic bread. She laughed and told me it was a garlic sandwich. Breakfast was a dismal failure as well and we didn't even bother the second morning we were there. Truly, if it wasn't for the pool this place would have nothing to offer. For the cheap price it was quite high class hotel, considering our other backpacking hotels in Vietnam. Clean room with daily cleaning and kettle for making local tea. The pool looks really nice but we didn't use it due to the unusually cold weather in February. It didn't seem to be too close to the road as some say. Nice bonsais surrounding the pool. Breakfast buffet was excellent, best breakfast on our trip in Vietnam, pancakes, omelettes, varying fresh fruit, juices, coffee, toast, noodle and rice dishes, all you can eat. Restaurant was okay in the evening too, friendly service even though we were the only ones eating on couple of evenings. Typical Viet architecture adorned with colorful lanterns. Nice pool surrounded by gardens. Staff pleasant and helpful. Breakfast ordinary but plentiful. Conveniently situated across the road from the main bus depot and an easy walk to the old town.
