Dark wood paneling and furnishing rather than the glitzy polished marble and neon that greets you at many hotels here. Also the location with its old town charm. It has all of that and more. The streets are vibrant with the excitement of scores of people bustling around on foot and on motor scooters. Walking in the neighborhood is an act of faith as you move elbow to elbow with skilled scooter drivers weaving in and out of traffic and pedestrians. There are virtually no sidewalks so its one big mass of movement that you have to jump into. It is fun an exciting but not for everyone. Everything at the hotel was very good by most measures. The rooms are nicely styled and clean and in good condition. The staff is really friendly and very helpful. When we arrived there was a power issue and they moved us to another hotel for a night. It wasn't nearly as good and they gave us a room upgrade to compensate for the rest of our stay. The massage i got there was great and cheap - $20\. The only complaint is the breakfast. Stale pastries and not vey good coffee. Minimal fruit selection. They had other offerings like cereal but really nothing was that good. It is a place of great pastries and fruit and coffee so it just felt like they were cutting corners.
