"Staff were nice but the property is tired and the beds were ridiculously uncomfortable."

"Terrible check in experience. The hotel said they didn’t have my hotel.com booking (I had booked around 4 hours earlier). Receptionist was very unfriendly and extremely unhelpful. The lady at reception didn’t offer any advice other than to buy a new room and left me sat in reception for an hour whilst I tried to contact hotels.com on the phone, she didn’t offer me even the glint of a smile, a glass of water, an apology, nothing, instead she treated me like I was trying to steal a free nights stay even though I had a confirmation email with all details on. Terrible customer service experience. I booked this hotel specifically because it had a gym which I didn’t get to use as it had closed by the time I got to my room. A smile and a “don’t worry we’ll help sort it” would have gone a very long way. Lacking some very basic customer service skills. "

"The staff and food could not have been better but our Classic double room left a lot to be desired!! The bathroom was very poor and the extractor sounded like a tractor, therefore you couldn't put the light on in the bathroom during the night if you needed the toilet ( had to use the torch on our phones). Also as the toilet was under the eaves and my husband is six foot tall, he found using it awkward!! The towels were lovely n clean but the shower cubicle was not. We would go back but not in a classic double room."

"Parking is limited but easy to get too. Linen nice and clean, towels and bedding. Tea and coffee provided in room. Only problem is that twice we have visited the hotel recently and had problems with the shower, no cold water therefore water was too hot, and previously shower handle broke off. First time another room was provided, second time offered a change of room or a room for a shower, staff offered a solution. All staff very friendly. "

The staff were absolutely fantastic—friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help with anything we needed. Nothing was too much trouble, and they really made us feel at home throughout our stay. The food was excellent, with a great selection and top-quality dishes that were clearly prepared with care. Every meal was thoroughly enjoyable and well presented. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well maintained, providing the perfect place to relax after a long day. It’s clear the team take pride in keeping everything to a high standard. Overall, a brilliant stay with a warm, friendly atmosphere. I wouldn’t hesitate to return and would highly recommend The Owl Hotel to anyone looking for great service, great food, and a comfortable stay."

"Plenty of parking. All facilities were available (pool, spa golf etc) at an extra cost but I didn't use. Room looked out on to a brick wall and outdoor plumbing, but I assume this is because I didn't book directly with the hotel. Grounds were immaculate but not visible from our room. Didn't have breakfast so cannot comment but it smelled good!"
