About this property

Hut 38 at Cultybraggan Camp - Accessible

  • Hut 38 is a fully wheelchair accessible Nissen hut at the historic Cultybraggan Camp, just outside Comrie in Perthshire. Originally built during the Second World War and later used for over 70 years as a Ministry of Defence training centre, Cultybraggan is recognised by Historic Scotland as the last remaining Prisoner of War camp in Scotland, a heritage site of international value.

Now owned by Comrie Development Trust, the camp has been carefully preserved and reimagined as sustainable self catering accommodation. Hut 38 is designed to support wheelchair users and guests with mobility needs, while sharing the same striking red roof, white frontage and black trim as the neighbouring huts, set against the Aberuchill Hills.

The spacious twin bedroom features two comfortable single beds. The open plan living area includes an accessible kitchen setup, generous circulation space and a dining table seating four, plus a queen size sofa bed for extra flexibility.

A key feature of Hut 38 is the wheelchair friendly wet room, with a roll in shower, grab rails and carefully considered safety features throughout.

Whether drawn by the site`s history, the Perthshire countryside, or the need for accessible accommodation, Hut 38 offers a truly distinctive place to stay.
