"Parking was $51 which is ridiculous. I asked for a luggage cart and porter left to go get one and never returned so we had to carry our bins up to our room. Lastly, someone was smoking weed on our floor and it was aweful - the whole floor stunk. I would not stay here again"

"Hard to believe it took me decades to find this spot! Area felt safe. Great view. Hotel was clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fresh and hot. Easy access to waterfront trail."

"I should have trusted prior reviews of this place as being a bit out-dated and run down, it certainly could use some paint and a little more TLC, however it is in a great location, beach is just across the street, and a nice shopping center with many cute stores/ wide variety of resturaunts and food choices across the other street. Overall, our goal was to just have a place to sleep in between the daily activities, and Coral Reef Inn met that need at a reasonable price. "

"This little gem has become my home away from home in Oakland. It has everything you could want in a city that already has everything—great food, cool bars, amazing music, plenty to do, etc. It's all brand new in a renovated space. The rooms are large and comfortable, the bathrooms are sparkling, and the service is impeccable. There's a rooftop courtyard, a game room, and good eats and drinks right next door. It's more comfortable than anywhere else in the Bay Area, and just as accessible. Well done all around, Oaktown Roost!"

"The family that owns this place are rude. Like the entire family. The only thing that makes this motel at all ok is the price. The microwave is unusable. The shower does not drain. The parking spots are super narrow. The fridge is almost useless. The TV is tiny. I would have stayed here again if it weren't for how unnecessarily the owners are rude. I will stay in a worse part of town just so I know I'm not giving those people my money. Stay a night and find out. Horrible experience will literally never repeat. "

"Room was clean, and staff friendly. The TV did not work, but the fact that the door lock was defective, would not lock, and we didn’t realize until checking out made for an inexcusable, unsafe stay. We are lucky nothing was stolen and worse nothing happened to us."
