We enjoyed every aspect of this hotel apart from one crucial thing. After disembarking a Silversea cruise, we checked in and a friend from the ship accompanied us to the hotel. The front desk would not accept a US driver’s licence as ID and refused to let him see our room for a brief moment. I was informed that only a passport would suffice. Beautiful room with balcony overlooking the rainforest and Malinka waterfall. Wonderful staff. Very close to Malinka waterfall. Peaceful and we loved it.

Location in the heart of the centre all the main attractions are on your doorstep. Hotel provides a great base for small trips in the heat which enables you to make most of the attractions. Hotel room was extremely comfortable and had all the amenities we needed plus more. There is a great view from the roof terrace with a nice swimming pool. Simply excellent. Sophia Hotel is fantastic hotel in the heart of the old town/centre. The rooftop pool and bar area has a lovely view and the food is good too. The music can be a little loud, but the staff are friendly and happily turned it down when we were the only couple on the roof enjoying the pool. Reception is excellent with any questions you may have and helped us immensely. The breakfast is also amazing! Thank you to the staff for such a great stay.

This is a unique property in the buzzy Getsemani area. Every room is different but I booked Up in the Sky with a small private roof terrace and private jacuzzi. Wonderful space to relax after a hot and humid day in Cartagena. Breakfast is freshly prepared to order. All staff are very friendly and helpful and Marcus the owner was great at communicating before and during my stay. There are loads of nice bars and restaurants almost on the door step and it is a 15 minute walk to the Clock tower...

Exceptional stay. Rooms and beds were aesthetically designed and very comfortable. Staff go above and beyond - kind, attentive and always looking after you. Loved this gorgeous place - an oasis in the heart of the old city . Beautiful rooms and pool. Attentive, friendly staff who treat you with genuine care and interest. Well worth the price - a real treat.

We loved our stay in the Casa Pestagua and wished it could have been longer. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was as beautiful as all the photographs showed. And excellent breakfasts.

Everything was wonderful except the SPA wasn't available ( closed or fully booked).

Truly a gem of a property. Amazing location with villas in the middle of a jungle. Great private beach with a cafe and enough sun beds for everyone to get situated. Bikes with each room to travel around. Great dining restaurant and a bar. I definitely would come again.

Lovely, stylish hotel that felt like home for 4 nights. Great location in the middle of Cartagena’s action, coolly converted house with a wonderful lounge. Very comfortable bedroom and bathroom. Nice rooftop pool and loungers. And it didn’t feel at all corporate or formulaic. Nice friendly staff and decent breakfast. No bar but they’ll bring you a drink in the lounge or on the balcony. Recommended by a fussy, style-conscious traveller!

Hotel Capellan is in a fantastic location amongst all the hustle and bustle of Cartegena old town. The staff are friendly and helpful - they made my boyfriend feel special on his birthday by giving him a chocolate cake delivered to our room. It’s relaxing, especially the pool and rooftop areas.

Beautiful place, room was very clean and bed comfortable. Best scrabbled eggs! Only negative was that the lights in the lobby were kept on all night which did infiltrate the shutters.

Location is amazing. Staff were very very helpful and courteous, helped us with restaurant reservations. I would recommend this hotel! We spent about 24hrs here and I could definitely see us staying here for longer in the future! Amenities are also premium!

We had a wonderful stay at San Lazaro. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The vibe of the hotel was very cool with fantastic decor to match. I would most definitely recommend this hotel!
