Vineyards are also dotted around the area and many have shops and cafes to call in to. About 120 miles west of Plymouth is the city of Springfield. Visit the Dr Seuss Sculpture Garden to see some of Theodor Geisel’s famous characters close up, or head to the Springfield Science Museum to explore the dinosaur hall and see the fish, frogs and spiders at the Solutia Live Animal Centre.
