Was greeted by friendly Manager. Found room was pre-cooled and welcoming after my travel. Felt secure parking my vehicle and many found food and other public conveniences nearby. Checked out early AM before breakfast to continue travel and found the night shift manager at the desk wishing me a great day. Second time staying here, both times were very good for an economical overnight's rest.

Ummm..the railing to the balcony had been taped off with caution tape on the second floor and was being supported by 2x4 underneath. Did not seem safe at all. Also, we have stayed here multiple times and the advertised pool has never been open. Usually the room is clean, but not this time. There was hair all over the bathroom floor and towels were stained some brown substance. May not stay here again. We are used to the sketchy characters that stay here, but someone was pounding on my son's door in the middle of the night, which is different level of unsafe. Might have to drive the extra into Columbia. This motel is literally falling down and it just didnt feel safe this stay.

I booked this hotel for the location in proximity to where I needed to be AND the advertised pool. I was traveling with 3 children. The pool has no water in mid May in SC with temperatures in the 80s and 90s. When I booked it I knew we would be coming in overnight/early morning- I spoke to the hotel staff before hand and again called before leaving home to say we were coming. At 0600 they cancelled my reservations (2 rooms), I saw they called and returned the call at 0700 and he reinstated them. When we arrived at 0830 - the desk clerk told me that there was an early check in fee - which amounted to the night before that I had already booked, but ticked me off because she was arguing with me about it. Then we had no pool. The bathroom walls had obvious water damage and a crack down the entire wall indicating poor maintenance. We ended up leaving a day early so we could enjoy beach time before returning home and due to lack of anything to encourage us to come back there, even another night that was paid for already, we changed our plans/route to stay elsewhere. I ended up paying for 4 nights and staying 2.

The breakfast is more like a snack. I wasn’t even in my room for 30 minutes, went to flush the toilet after urinating, and the toilet started overflowing all over the bathroom floor. Lots of rust throughout the room. Not in the best area so the other tenants staying were not the most ideal company. A lot of them kept slamming doors late at night and early in the morning. Property is pitted with potholes and loose gravel/nails all over the place. I was lucky I didn’t leave with a flat tire. The staff is nice, that’s really the only thing going for this place. Wouldn’t recommend unless you absolutely have to stay somewhere. Not sure who’s leaving all these good reviews, probably the people that work there or something like that.

The staff seemed friendly, and the prices were fair. A $10 extra charge per night for a pet is reasonable. It seems like they're remodeling rooms. The first impression of the room wasn't bad; I honestly expected worse. During our two-night stay, on the first night/day, we noticed a lot of the outlets were extremely loose and needed replacing altogether. We also noticed our bare feet were very dirty. The floor "seemed" clean, but one of the attached pictures will show it wasn't clean at all. I used half a canister of Lysol wipes to physically get on my hands and knees and clean the entire floor, including the bathroom and all touchable surfaces in the room. Room 109 probably has the cleanest floors in the whole hotel. Also, larger adult sizes towels; It could barely fit over an adult male, let alone an adult woman (pick which is going to be covered, top or bottom), no joke at all. Attached pictures will show the condition of the room and a picture of a towel dirty from wiping up the floor. Let's not forget a so-called clean (folded) towel from housekeeping put on the shower shelf of towels (not acceptable at all). Improve your standards and cleaning practices. Nothing impressive about the free "breakfast." Improvements can be made in this area of the hotel.

I would love to give this hotel a better rating. I will say it was clean where it counts as far as the floor, bathrooms, towels, etc. However, the curtains in the room, the sofa, the bedding, need a complete overhaul. All of these things were either dirty or in question.I know this is a budget hotel but I have stayed in small hotels in communities that were absolutely spotless. I love small businesses so I’m cheering for you!
