"Super friendly staff, great decor and facilities, really good restaurant, excellent location for accessing the Porte de Soleil, close to shops and other places to eat. We will be back! "
"Very nice hotel! Rooms , spa and common space renewed. Everything was extra clean.
Location very convenient .
Receptionist friendly and helpful.
Just minor thing to improve: mattresses are quite soft but nevertheless, we had a good night sleep.

"The Hostel team were excellent, food and drinks selections and standard are high. Rooms are fine - showers a bit dated in the room, but did the job after been out all day."

"The staff were extremely helpful and the place had a nice relaxed atmosphere to it- the breakfast was good and the items were kept topped up to choose from. The hotel was in a good location for skiing so all in all it was perfect for us "

Chalet with stunning views in the Valley D'Abondance
10/10 Excellent
"We travelled to Portes du Soleil with our two children, aged 5 & 6 for February half term 2025.The booking process was seamless and Emma provided just the right amount of information we needed, including recommendations for ski schools. We checked in late, which wasn’t a problem at all, and the chalet was spotlessly clean, beds made up and ready to go for the first day’s skiing. The VRBO advert doesn’t do the chalet justice - it is ideally placed for a very short drive to the main lift, SuperChatel and I dropped my family off just beneath the lift in a 15-min drop zone, then parked a little lower down the village. By the time I then got to the top of the gondola, the children had just started ski school each day and we could then have a couple of hours skiing to ourselves before carrying on skiing with the children for the rest of the day. The chalet is perfect and traditional, nicely equipped, wonderfully decorated with various paintings including panel paintings on the wardrobes and dining benches, very cosy and with the most amazing log fire which heats most of the house. The ground floor has a great space for storing and maintaining skis and drying boots, cleaning laundry etc. The balconies are great for late afternoon drinks or for the brave - al fresco breakfast! We have no hesitation in recommending Emma and her husband (and of the course the chalet) for a wonderful, peaceful, stay. Thanks so much for a great week."
Spacieux Appartement Dans un Authentique Chalet à Châtel
6/10 Okay
"Initially, I gave a positive review due to the price and location, but after further reflection, I need to share my real experience.
When we arrived, the apartment had a strong smell of mold and moisture, which made my children physically ill. It was clear the property had been closed up for some time. Despite this, we did our best to leave the place in a good state, even buying our own cleaning supplies. Unfortunately, the vacuum provided was weak, making it difficult to clean thoroughly.
An accidental burn occurred with the lamp due to my child falling asleep with it covered. Thankfully, no one was hurt, and I would have expected understanding for such an incident rather than an excessive charge. Additionally, the domino box was not something we noticed being damaged, and I find the host's claim of €450 in damages completely unreasonable.
The beds were also very uncomfortable, causing me back pain throughout the stay. While I appreciated the host bringing a crib from a distance, the overall experience was not as positive as I initially thought."
