We stayed at Ouse Bridge House for 4 nights and were impessed by the friendly welcome on checking in, the delicious breakfasts, our comfortable and clean room. There is ample parking and wonderful views from every window. Our hostess, Claire was kind, helpful and made our stay a very happy one.

My partner and I stayed for a week in this lovely property, the proprietor and staff were friendly and welcoming while also being very professional, it is dog friendly and the Covid measures put in place were more than adequate, the rooms and the house itself were spotlessly clean an important factor to most of us, we would not hesitate to rebook this charming place again. One caveat to mention is when booking anywhere in the Lake District it is advisable to book restaurants and hotels for evening meals in advance as they get booked up quickly. Our recommendation for our best meal is The Wheatsheaf pub at Embleton. Enjoy.

Great service, nice friendly atmosphere and very nice breakfast. Especially liked the way how they dealt with all issues caused by COVID-19.

Sadly we were not happy with our visit at all which caused us to leave early. We came for central London to enjoy a few nights in Lake District but the house made our entire stay a nightmare. We found that the room smelt a lot, was unclean, there was mould on the ceiling and the shower was not working. The beds were also very uncomfortable to sleep in and the breakfast portions were tiny. When we told the manager about the shower she was very patronising and said things like ‘what do you want me to do about it’ and ‘there are people out there with no water’ we felt so unwelcome and uncomfortable after this so after a few hours we decided to leave just because of the way she made us feel. I do not recommend this place at all. A total waste of £260. overall I cannot say one good thing about the place and it ruined our entire stay and memory of Lake District. I hope the manager learns to be more friendly and less patronising after this. Her behaviour towards us may have been due to the fact that we were people of colour. I am lost for words and really upset by this experience.
