Lovely walk into Keswick where there is everything you need, returned on the bus whoever there's a bus stop across the road. Had a lovely meal in the pheasant inn within walking distance. Lakeland distillery also within distance, worth having a tour. If you wanted to do posh there is Armathwaite hall close by.

Excellent property.
Excellent property. Only minor issue is the positioning of the bathroom in the house - downstairs from the bedrooms. But it’s an old Victorian house so is quirky like that! So much space in there, all equipment great. No local amenities within walking distance, but we knew that when we booked. Great access to Keswick and the northern lakes. Great stay!

can I suggest that the house would benefit from a handrail between the first floor landing and the utility room - similar to the staircase handrail

This cottage was in every way perfect.
This cottage was in every way perfect. Views across to Sale Fell are amazing from the large lounge windows. Has everything one could wish for. Walks out of the door and on the main bus route Cockermouth to Keswick which are only short drives away. Would book again.

A nice, spacious apartment in the North Lakes convenient for Keswick and Cockermouth.
A nice, spacious apartment in the North Lakes convenient for Keswick and Cockermouth. Set over two floors, it is clean, comfortable and well equipped. It's quite close to the main A66 road, which was a concern when booking. But we shouldn't have worried, as the road was a non-issue. There is parking directly outside the house. Inside, a great TV, Internet access and all the bits 'n bobs you need for modern living. It was lovely.

Lovely spacious property.
Lovely spacious property. Really liked lounge and kitchen/diner. Stairs could be an problem for some people, and could benefit from a grab rail by the two stairs leading to utility and bathroom. We did have an issue with boot room (sailing gear removed by letting agents of downstairs flat who appeared to have forgotten boot room is shared by both properties). We did sort it out and hopefully it was a one off. Certainly wouldn't stop us from returning.

A great setting for exploring the slightly less crowded NW corner of the Lakes.
A great setting for exploring the slightly less crowded NW corner of the Lakes. Beautifully situated virtually on Bassenthwaite Lake.
