Find hotels in Clifton from £59

The best time to visit Clifton is during the dry season, from May to October, when the weather is consistently sunny and warm, making it ideal for outdoor activities.

During these months, you can expect clear skies and pleasant temperatures, great for exploring the Clifton coastline, enjoying the beaches, or venturing out on boat trips. This period avoids the tropical wet season, which runs from November to April and is characterised by high humidity, heavy rainfall, and potential cyclones.

For couples looking for a relaxing getaway, visiting in May or September offers a more peaceful experience with fewer crowds, allowing for intimate moments on secluded beaches or quiet dinners with ocean views. The slightly cooler temperatures at the beginning and end of the dry season are also very comfortable for leisurely strolls along the shore.

Families travelling with children will find July and August particularly appealing due to the school holidays in Australia, which often coincide with whale watching season. This provides an excellent opportunity to spot humpback whales as they migrate along the coast, adding an exciting educational element to the trip.
