Villa del Sol is located on the Atlantic side of picturesque Clarence Town. The house is a modern, tastefully furnished and fully equipped, designed for easy island style living. Wrap around verandahs, natural polished pine floors and spacious rooms allow for a relaxed atmosphere and indoor/outdoor living. Set in a quiet, secure location, but close to everything you need to make your vacation special, including a variety of restaurants, shops, historical sites, beaches, marina. Panoramic views of the quaint little harbor town gives a peaceful feeling of being at home with nature. Fully air conditioned, ceiling fans, large windows and French doors allow the cool island breezes to keep you comfortable at all times. Ideal for a family or just two. Linens, towels (beach and bath), fully equipped kitchen where you can prepare meals or we can arrange for a cook to do so. Bikes and kayaks available at no extra cost.
Where is Long Island: Villa del Sol is located in Clarence Town, Long Island, Bahamas. Long Island is one of the more southern islands in the archipelago. It is an island of contrasts, featuring the rugged Atlantic coastline on the western side and powder soft beaches and the turquoise waters of the eastern/Caribbean side. The climate is gorgeous all year round, although the summers can be quite hot. It is the place for those who want something different, untouched, peaceful, natural. Most of the activities on the island are centered around the sea, fishing (deep-sea, reef, fly), swimming, snorkeling, diving or just plain lazing around on the beach, usually with no one else in sight. It is easy to get to, you can fly into one of two airports, Deadmans Cay or Stella Maris, or pull up at one of the marinas in your sea craft of choice. The weekly mail boats also provide the more adventurous a means of getting here. The perfect vacation choice for families or those who feel the need to get away from it all.
The people...: Native Long Islanders are among the friendliest folk you will ever meet. A resilient people, they have learned the art of surviving off the land and sea. Fishing is the main industry and some farming is done throughout the island. At any given time you can find an abundance of fresh fruit in season, like mangoes, sugar apples, juicy water melon, pineapples, freshly cut bunches of bananas and many others. If you are lucky you may even get invited to share a meal or two with local families. The menu of choice would be seafood, local mutton (goat or sheep) and a variety of dishes like peas n rice, plantains, etc. So for a holiday experience marked by great family fun, friendly people and fabulous food Long Island is the place.

We were there to fish. This house is walking distance to Flying Fish Marina which has some of the best quality seafood in the Bahamas plus a magnificent view. Bring your hammocks for beaches. Rent a car to explore this beautiful island before it gets discovered!

#### Beautiful Home, Great Location, Beautiful Island!
I could not ask for a better vacation rental or hosts! They were perfect! The house was beautiful with a porch that wraps around the entire house., beautiful hard wood floors, all furniture seemed brand new, great comfy new beds/mattresses, with a new flat screen TV as well. It is very spacious with lots of amenities, full kitchen with everything you need, plenty of hot water (we had four people showering nightly with no problems), strong and fast wifi signal, and everything very clean. We explored the whole island and were very glad we picked this location...this really is where you want to stay if you want to be near all of the best beaches on the island. Galloway, Deans Blue Hole, Lochabar, and Compass Rose (also called Lowes I believe) were all about 5-10 min away! These four have a little something for everyone (for family, seclusion, sheltered swimming, snorkeling, beautiful sunsets etc.) and were our four favorite beaches on the whole island. Avoid the resort crowds up north..this is where you want to be!! Last but definitely not least...our hosts were second to none. They were available for anything we needed. They went way above and beyond for us and we cannot thank them enough! We did have issues with bags and our airline (Bahamas Air...there was some sort of strike...take Southern Air if you can) however Ramona and Danny set everything straight for us so we could just relax and enjoy our vacation instead of worrying or dealing with the hassle. You just aren't going to get that anywhere else! We are looking forward to staying with them again on our next visit back to beautiful Long Island!

Great weather, great beaches and wonderful people! A feature that really impresses us and that has improved steadily over the years is the communications capability here at the Villa, The equipment onboard includes a flat panel TV with cable TV connection, local telephone and broadband internet service. We bring our laptop computer, Vonage Adapter and phone and miscellaneous cables, such as an HDMI cable. The bottom line is capability for Cable TV, DVD, CD, Internet Radio, local phone, International phone, all with about a 20-minute set-up/tear-down cycle. #### Perfect place to stay
We found the house as described in the web. We felt there being at home, relaxed atmospere, spacy rooms, quiet neigbourhood. Well equipped kitchen, shower outside. Many thanks to Ramona & Dan who helped us getting the perfect start in Long Island. This was our first time in the Bahamas. When we come back to Long Island, we will stay again in Villa del Sol!

#### Perfect Anniversary getaway!
The owners, Ramona and Danny, were so welcoming, helpful and accomodating. The Villa del Sol is the most comfortable home we have rented, the beds were sooo comfy and linens very fresh and like home! We rented a car arranged for us (very reasonable) and visited one or two new gorgeous beaches every day, many times we were the only people on the beach. We explored every day and in the late afternoon at cocktail time, we used the coolers provided and took beer or rum and snacks to enjoy on the beach...it was bliss! We bought really fresh, caught that day, Yellow tails, snappers and groupers to cook on the outdoor gas grill...best fresh fish ever! The mosquitoes are a bit of a bother after sundown but there was plenty of insect repellent provided. All in all if you want comfort, friendly welcoming islanders, laid back find your own entertainment on the beach, or fishing, or snorkeling, or sleeping, being bone idle in total bliss...this is a place for you. It was a really relaxing and renewing 7 days for us. We will return! Thank you to Ramona and Danny, you are the best hosts.

#### Fabulous, peaceful getaway
We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at Villa del Sol. The Villa is attractively furnished, clean and well maintained. Ramona and Danny were the perfect hosts. Ramona responded quickly to all of our email questions and Danny helped us with transportation from the airport, getting groceries and arranging our car rental. They greeted us with welcome drinks and took us on an orientation tour of Clarence Town and the south end of the island. We loved the beach at Gordon's for swimming and shelling and even saw a wild donkey on the way there. Galloway Beach had great scenery and good sand for walking. Salt Pond and the two resorts at the north end of the island were beautiful. We were welcome at the resorts to walk around and to have beverages or a meal. Clarence Town had good snorkelling around the coral between the dock and Gems at Paradise. You can use the kayak on a calm day to get there. The restaurants in Clarence Town and the restaurant in Miley had excellent food and reasonable prices. We bought fresh lobster from the fishery in Salt Pond and it was very tasty done on the BBQ. The people on Long Island were very welcoming and polite. People went out of their way to make sure we had a good time. Ena from Clarence Town explained straw weaving, "Beetle" shared some of his sugar bananas with us, the local fishermen explained how they catch fish, the couple who make the shell jewellery in Clarence Town explained their craft and the husband even played a Canadian song on his guitar for us. If you are looking for a quiet and safe stay in the tropics, we would suggest you consider Villa del Sol. (Just bring a little bug spray for the sand fleas that come out at dusk.)

#### Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant.
The property is fantastic, the hosts are brilliant and the warm Bahamas breeze completes a truly relaxing escape. Danny and Ramona went the extra mile every step of the way in what was a last minute getaway booked literally at the last minute. Ramona and Danny not only collected us from the airport to take us to their beautiful property but they organized our return flights from Long Island back to Nassau, organized a rental car to be waiting for us at the property on arrival and furthermore greeted us with champagne and the local Conch Fritters on arrival. The house itself is immaculate; clean and spacious with everything that you will need including air-conditioning if required or let that great Bahamas breeze blow through the house. We stayed for 3 nights. You will need a car on this island if you wish to explore and Ramona will organize one for you which you can fix up with the company on arrival. There are some lovely and interesting places to visit on Long Island. We recommend "Blue Hole" nearby at Deans, dinner at the small cafe at the marina right near the house, driving north to Cape Santa Maria to swim, have a drink and watch the sunset and also heading south to Gordon's beach for hours of uninterrupted relaxation in a truly amazing and completely deserted beach paradise. This place is absolutely worth the short flight away from all the resorts, noise and casino lights on Nassau. It takes you to the REAL Bahamas and what the islands should have always been; beautiful, warm, friendly and worry free.

#### Amazing Vacation & Perfect Home
We could not have been happier with this house. I honestly do not have anything negative to say. The owners, Danny & Ramona, we so hospitable, welcoming and were always there for advice about the island. They met us at the airport when we landed and organized our rental car to be waiting for us. We then followed them to the house and were given a brief tour of the island along the way. It was a great was the get a quick introduction to the island. The house was amazing! The house and all the furnishing are all brand-new and it showed. We had 6 people staying in the house and did not feel at all cramped. We used both the pull out sofa and the roll away bed and both were quite comfortable. The kitchen was equipped with all the basic dishes and cookware. The bathroom was quite large and very clean. There were plenty of towels and they even offer a complimentary towel cleaning service every couple of days. I would have to say that the best part of the house is the fresh ocean breeze. The house had so many windows and door that the Air Conditioner was not necessary. It is so great to be able to have all the windows open and listen to the ocean from the living room or the amazing porch that circles the whole house. As I said before I can't think of a single negative thing about the island or the house. It was just an amazing vacation and the perfect vacation home.
