Francesco was fantastic! He allowed us to check in early as we had an overnight flight. He gave us a lot of tips on the town and even some on checking in for our cruise (listen to him on this!!). I would definitely stay there again!

Perfect place to stay before boarding a cruise out of the port Very clean and excellent service , this was our second time staying and it’s hard to beat the great value , the place was spotless and in fantastic condition

The Museum Guest House is the perfect place to stay before a cruise. The host Francesco Coppola was very accommodating and even brought us a bottle opener for my beer. He even had a gluten free pastry made for us from local bakery. The room had a variety of pastries, water, soda, instant coffee, yogurt, juices etc. that are complimentary. The granite bathroom is amazing. Book with confidence!!

An absolute gem! This is a review of the Museum Guest house property, but before I get in to the details of the property itself I must first give praise and thanks to Francesco – you can not ask for a nicer or more helpful host. Once booked Francesco was in contact to make sure any questions I may have were answered. As the date of my visit approached, once again Francesco reached out and was very welcoming and helpful. We arrived in Civitavecchia and went looking for the property. There is no big sign to introduce you to the location, but it is easy to find. We asked at a nearby little restaurant if they could direct us to “The Museum Guest House”, and the reaction was a big smile - “oh, Francesco’s place!” – and they enthusiastically guided us there. Clearly our host is well liked in the community, and for good reason. When we met Francesco he went over the details of the property, and showed us our room. The room was absolutely spotless. Despite this being an old building with all the charm and patina that comes with it, the Museum Guest house itself was pristine. Everything sparkled, the floors were dust free, the linens crisp and clean. Absolutely nothing to criticize – well above average. We enjoyed the time in Civitavecchia, a charming community feeling that you won’t get if you stay in Rome. This was the perfect home base before our cruise. Very walkable, great people, and quick and inexpensive train in to Rome a short walk away. Look forward to our next stay – A

A really unique kind of guesthouse on the 2nd floor of a nice historic building. Although on a busy road, the sound insulation was top notch and with the window closed we could hear nothing from the bustling street below. We informed the owner Francesco that we were vegan before arriving and he went above and beyond to cater to our needs. We were very grateful for his kind and impeccable attention to detail. This is a perfect location to stay before taking a cruise from the nearby port which is a very short walk away. We will definitely be back!

The host went out of his way to meet us and check us in after we arrived late at night. He also gave a s great directions to a shuttle bus to get to our cruise ship. The best part of the room was the soundproofing! We slept in a room near a street and did not hear anything. Great room for one night for cruisers.

It is not possible to have a cleaner room than this one. There are beautiful marble floors, pristine and modern bathroom, and table and fridge with varied beverages and snacks included in the price. Francesco is also an excellent host, explaining everything in detail and patiently answering any questions. If I am ever in Civitavecchia again, this will be my abode of choice!

The owner Francesco and his wife couldn’t have been more nice and helpful. The location was walkable to the train station and to the cruise port. I will definitely stay here again.

The Museum Guest House was perfect for us. We had two days between cruises and decided to stay in Civitavecchia rather than go back into Rome. Francesco was so friendly and helpful. And we loved our room. The location was great. We had a short 8 minute walk to the stop for the free shuttle bus to our ship. Close to great restaurants and the town’s waterfront. If we cruise from Civitavecchia again, we will definitely stay here.

Fantastic Museum Guest House
We stayed at the Museum Guest House overnight before our transatlantic cruise back to Florida. The location was perfect. We had easy access to the free shuttle to the cruise port. Francisco and Monica were amazing in explaining what we needed to have a great stay and how to navigate the area.

A Hidden Gem
A beautiful family run hotel located inside a historical building. Oozing with charm and expertly managed by Francesco, who went above and beyond with advice regarding getting to our cruise ship. Please note that Francesco is only on-site when you are scheduled to arrive and depart, but is available via a speed dial intercom type system should you require him. A definite go to stop pre or post cruise!

Host was very helpful. Available immediately by phone call if required. Only thing to know is room is on third floor, not second as in North America. First floor is not counted. There is an elevator too.

Pre Cruise Stay
We stayed here for two nights prior to a cruise. Its in a great location with clean, charming rooms. Its in a very walkable, area. One block from the water, the fort and across the street from the Archaelogical Museum. Francesco and Maria were very, very helpful with arranging transport to cruise terminal, advising us on great restaurants and sites in Civitavecchia. Our only confusion was not realizing that the ground floor is not the first floor as in many U.S. locations. When we arrived we took the small elevator up one floor assuming we were on the second floor. We quickly realized our mistake and went up one more floor, this we would have considered the third floor. Highly recommend this location!

It is an old property but good location for cruise passengers and eateries in the surrounding area. Was hard to find. Right Across from Archeological Museum through wooden doors which are not marked. Feels like guest rooms occupy one floor of deserted building.

A great spot within walking distance of both the train station and the cruise terminal. Conveniently located in the downtown and near the water. The room was clean and comfortable, albeit small from a North American perspective. The staff were terrific and helpful.

Best Hotel in area
We stayed here for 1 night and everything with the room and staff was perfect. The room decor is all white marble and chrome fixtures. Most other hotels do NOT have air conditioning but this place does and it worked flawlessly. The staff is super nice and helpful with local information/ advice. The only issue was the elevator was not operational and the hotel rooms are on the 3rd floor from ground level. Summary: Stay here with confidence!

The manager and his assistant went way out of their way on the phone to attempt to assist me in recovering my delayed bag from the Rome airport. The room was beautifully decorated. It is in the ideal location for cruise passengers.

Great place to stay!
Great place to stay before our cruise. Francesco was there waiting for us, he and his wife were so very nice and made sure everything was perfect. There were drinks in the mini fridge and coffee and bakery items for breakfast. We will definitely stay there again.

Nice and convenient. Local eats and shopping within walking distance and only 5 minutes away from the cruise port. Just wait on the bus by the fort and your practically already there. Francesco was courteous and gave great options for things to do in the local area.

The staff were excellent and extremely helpful I had questions on how to get to the cruise boat and I was there five days earlier and nobody could help me Then I use this hotel to stay at and they were very knowledgeable and extremely helpful I would go back to them anytime I need to cruise out of that Port
