Fitzgerald Cottage CBD
This stunning property has been lovingly recreated and rebuilt from scratch to the exact architectural specifications of the 19th century house once at this site. The new cottage encompasses the quaint look, high stud and roominess of the old, but also incorporates the insulation, modern outfitting and comfort of the new.
From the moment you drive your car behind the drive's unique electric gates you enter a safe haven in the city. Before you the light, airy Zen garden designed by the owner and actioned by the master landscaper Lindsay Philps from GoFar Landscaping Company. Pause at this unique, private vista knowing it is yours to enjoy for the duration of your stay.
Once inside the house, explore the 2 generous bedrooms, living area, well-appointed galley kitchen and the "has it all" bathroom. Double-glazed sash windows, ceiling roses and ornate fire-surrounds create a sense of atmosphere harking back to a less stressful era. This attention to detail is, these days, somehow absent in most modern spec homes. Built to last, built to impress, built for safety.
This regenerating area of Christchurch is close to everything. You can start every day with a quick walk to Little Poms cafe for a wonderful breakfast and brunch and later meander down to the famous Pomeroys Public bar and restaurant. Or, by car, continue along Kilmore Street and within two or three minutes you are in the exciting Casino precinct with its Victoria Street dining and bars. Once you have finished with your evening's activities retire to Fitzgerald Cottage, pop some of your favourite music on through the bluetooth-able sound system and relax in the warmth and comfort of your Christchurch haven.

French provincial / Everything you need / close to city / had a beautiful vibe / Everything was easy / super comfortable beds / we all loved it!! thank you so much, our holiday was amazing and your home just added to it. So glad we picked your home.
A lovely, well appointed property. Such a good location and is close to the city and within walking distance to a walking area along the Avon river.I loved the privacy of the property and the comfortable bed. All fixtures and fittings are of high quality. I really enjoyed the deep bath!! Perhaps the photos could be updated as the trees dont look like this anymore!!
215 Fitzgerald was perfect for conference week in Christchurch with my wife. The house was kitschy and comfortable with everything you might need away from home. Danielle was super easy and helpful when contacted. Would highly recommend. Also all the city is easily within walking distance.
Would highly recommend such a gorgeous property close to the bus and city centre and surround sightseeing areas. With an awesome little pub and cafe you can walk too.
This property is very secure, great location, beautifully appointed and decorated, and with so many personal touches that it was a complete pleasure to stay in.
We enjoyed the spacious house and excellent location so much that we stayed here multiple times while crisscrossing the South Island. Highly recommend this rental!
This is such an excellent property. All fixtures and fittings are extremely high-quality. As a francophile, I found the French theme to be absolutely delightful. The property is so well stocked with anything and everything you could possibly need. Danielle’s communications were excellent and we had no problem finding or accessing Fitzgerald cottage. If the opportunity ever arises, I would certainly stay here again. Close proximity to Apex car hire, just a 1 km walk was a real bonus for us. We are two single retired ladies travelling together.
An immaculately restored arts and crafts home with modern facilities and a beautiful tranquil garden, in a very good location being an easy walk to the centre.

The home is beautifully decorated, comfortable, well stocked and in a great location for us to walk everywhere. Loved our stay and will be back the next time we are in Christchurch.
