"Lovely spacious well-heated house in beautiful countryside. We had a week of snowy weather which was heavenly. Edward, the owner was extremely helpful. He towed out some cars which got stuck in the car park by the house, provided lots of logs, replaced the washing machine which had problems and was generally a great help. This is a house for people who like old books and furnishings...don't go there if you want modern posh."

"This property is wonderful for a quiet getaway, it’s beautifully decorated with lots of interesting things to discover and the kitchen is so well equipped, we could have easily hosted a 12 person dinner party! "We stayed here for a short break with the family. We were greeted with a lovely welcome pack from the owners and was really impressed with the lodge. Its location was perfect for places to visit, we went to Bamburgh castle, Berwick, Alnwick gardens and Holy Island in the time we stayed. The accommodation was spacious, clean and warm on arrival, with the log burner as a welcome extra. We would definitely recommend for a family getaway and would stay again in the future."

"Hotel is nice my only negative is that they don’t except cash anywhere in the hotel not at checkout not in restaurant and not even in the bar. We had a family room on the top floor which was big bright & spacious shower was very good plenty hot water. We had bottles of water biscuits tea coffee milk kettle ironing board. Couldn’t fault our room. Breakfast was excellent lots of cereals yogurts fresh fruits etc plus the usual bacon eggs sausage etc."

"We booked a last minute family room, was a very large main bedroom with 2 single beds in sunroom, also included a small patio and back access to car park. Dinner at night was wonderful and accommodated my unusual diet and allergies. Breakfast was ok when we got it had to ask several times for a glass of water and gf bread/toast. Reception and night restaurant and bar staff were very friendly and helpful, would have stayed another night but no vacancies."
