If you are looking for the authentic English village experience this is perfect. Beautiful old hotel with a nice pub on the first floor. Friendly people, two more pubs on the same corner. There’s a really beautiful forest nearby for good walks , it’s about a 30 min drive to the coast (Holy Island, Bamburgh etc). was really really enjoyable.

The Black Bull lodgings and Staff were excellent. Anne was especially gracious. The food for breakfast and dinner was delicious. Heartily recommend staying here.

What more would you need.
Attentive staff. Clean and well presented room. Awesome shower. Spacious and comfortable.Good location. Didn’t eat but saw others food and it looked generous pub grub. Great restaurant next door. Parking at rear awkward to find. Could do with a fan as it was a very hot muggy night. Would stay again though. I ordered breakfast which was good
