Of all the suites, this picturesque house on Fraueninsel in Lake Chiemsee offers a stunning view of the lake towards the sunset, with Herreninsel and the mountain range beyond. Guests staying in the 4 suites at the HOIXL Gütl have access to the private lakeside property directly in front of the Gütl—complete with a private dock, swimming ladder, and lounge chairs—as well as to the exclusive communal sauna in the boathouse.
The Balcony Suite, with its balcony wrapping around two sides, offers a magnificent view across the lake. On cool evenings, the crackling fire in the living room creates a cosy atmosphere.
Fraueninsel, with its historic convent, lies in the middle of Lake Chiemsee, near the uninhabited Krautinsel and Herreninsel. A trip to Herreninsel is well worth it to visit King Ludwig II’s Herrenchiemsee Palace as well as the old Herrenkloster. With its mountains and lakes, the Chiemgau region offers plenty of opportunities for relaxation in every season. Art and culture enthusiasts can take trips to nearby cities such as Salzburg, Rosenheim, Berchtesgaden, and others.
The hosts have renovated the historic Hoixl Gütl with great passion and dedication. The first mentions of the Hoixl Gütl date back to 1738 in Bavarian field name registers. The HOIXL GÜTL once also included a small plot of land on the nearby, uninhabited Krautinsel, where vegetables were once grown. The Hoixl Gütl is a place with a very special charm that enchanted and captivated us from the very first moment, and so we decided to to create four charming and tastefully decorated suites here, all of which offer a wonderful view of the lake and the mountain range beyond.
