Good Location

Posted 31-Aug-2015
Undergoing a needed renovation. My room was very "tired" and needed renovation. Bath was small but newly renovated, so that part was good.

This is a great place to stay. It's right around the corner from Rush St. and located not too far from the Red Line. It really gives you the Old Chicago feel. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Got a good deal on Expedia

Posted 21-Aug-2015
Pros: Beds were comfortable, pillows nice
Cons: Food only available till 10 pm, lounge not open until 4. Maybe a lunchtime opening instead. most hotels open the at lunch.
Location: EVERYTHING IS CLOSE. John Hancock, water tower place. Red line is a two minute walk. Very good location. cab fare from Union Station < $10.
Old hotel, trying to make it better. Comfortable beds, nice pillows. VERY SMALL elevator, bad for me because of claustrophobia. VERY few outlets for electronic devices. But i am sure that is due to the fact that when it was built people did not need them.

Nice hotel in downtown

Posted 20-Aug-2015
Pros: It is very close to things in downtown Chicago for a reasonable price
Overall we had a good experience here. Our first room smelled like cigarette smoke (even though it is a non-smoking hotel) and did not have any view out the window (other than the next building). We went to the front desk and complained, but all they did was spray febreeze in the room. I was pretty annoyed at this point, but we dealt with another person at the front desk the next day who very first thing said it would be no problem to change us to another room and gave us a great big room for our 2nd night.

Great location. Easy walking to Michigan Ave.

Posted 19-Aug-2015
Pros: Location, location, location. Close to Michigan Ave. and many fine restaurants.
Cons: Along with morning coffee, danish, donuts, or rolls would be a nice addition. Ice machines in the halls and refrigerators to store item.
Location: Sightseeing, eating, shopping and people watching.
Room was much smaller than expected. Too much furniture made the room feel cramped. Bed was very comfortable but the numerous amount of pillows all proved to be terrible. Great shower and bathroom facilities. Needed more lighting - room seemed dark. No view except the wall of another building. No ice or vending machines. For the price paid for the room one would expect to find these things in the hotel.

Hotel close enough to city

Posted 14-Aug-2015
We booked this on spec, turned out OK. Walkable to city, about a mile. Direct bus route to Union station and city centre. Hotel very clean, staff helpful, bed extremely comfortable. Only downside was lifts not always working. Breakfast would have been an expensive luxury so we had the complementary tea then went to Starbucks. Ate in both evenings, enjoyed the food.
