Great location next to John Hancock

Posted 18-Aug-2016
Pros: Location & the age of the hotel, almost 90 years old.
Cons: Hallways were a bit dated.
Location: Magnificent Mile is just steps away. Downtown Chicago is so walkable and it's all so accessible from the Whitehall. The neighborhood is great.
Great old hotel! Rooms were very nice but the hallways could use some updating. The staff was very helpful.

Great location, great service

Posted 15-Aug-2016
Pros: Location, bed comfort, customer service
Cons: Room service closes at 10pm. It would be great if they had 24 hours room service.
Location: Very secure neighborhood, one block from The Hancock Tower, 10 minutes walking distance from the Chicago's Riverwalk, 20 minutes from Millenium Park
This hotel is located one block from The John Hancock Center and hereby from Michigan Avenue and all the main touristic attractions in Chicago. This hotel is just what you need if you are a sole tourist in Chicago as I was: easy access, secure neighborhood, fantastic bed (one of the most comfortable I have slept in) and great customer service. My second night in the city, I was cayght by a storm 4 blocks from the hotel. One I got there I was rain-soaked, so much I had to squeeze my cloths before getting in the lobby. While I was doing that, and without asking, one of the bellboys literally ran quickly to find a clean tower for me to dry. I really appreciated it. Staff at the reception was very kind as well and check-in and out process was very expeditious. I will definitely go back to the Whitehall Hotel if in Chicago.

Boa localização, precisa de um up date

Posted 14-Aug-2016
Elevadores antigos e demorados.

Location: Magnificent Mile, Old Town, Strand, Navy Pier

Great quality rooms

Posted 11-Aug-2016
Cons: Fridge could only hold food/drink from the hotel, and was weight censored meaning we couldn't take it out without being charged.
Location: Great central location with he Hancock tower at the end of the road, oak street boutiques two streets north, and close to Oak street beach.
My girlfriend and I stayed at the hotel for 8 nights when we came to Chicago to see Lollapalooza's 25th. I have to say, the beds are very comfortable and the room is very spacious. However, the bed frame in our room had fallen apart, luckily this had no effect on the mattress as the frame and bed were separate parts, and the light above the bath was broken, so we had little light when using the shower.

Great location near the Water Tower and Hancock

Posted 10-Aug-2016
Pros: It is small, but veer comfortable and updated with some old charm also. The staff is very friendly and they offer coffee and tea in the mornings.
Cons: They could use a few more pillow in the room.
Location: Great location. It is within a few walking blocks of the Water Tower, The Hancock, and Shopping. We even walked to Navy Pier!
Gérât hotel. We stayed here about 10 years ago and since then it has been updated. Very comfortable and no complains. Lots of things to do within walking distance.

Chicago Landmark needs refreshing

Posted 09-Aug-2016
Pros: Location. Quiet. Size.
Cons: See above.
Location: Museums, shopping, restaurants, theater.
Staff were friendly enough. I really only slept there. I didn't take advantage of any amenities, such as they are, so I have no specific complaints. The place is old. It is a protected landmark, so no one can "remodel" it. I'm not suggesting it should be remodeled, but I am suggesting that the carpets be replaced, the walls get some new paper and paint, and PLEASE LOSE the "fake walls" that are really peeling wallpaper. I had a superior room. It was not.
