This hotel is about a 10 minute ride to the old city. It's a little off the beaten path but that's part of why we loved it so much. They provide bikes to ride for the day, and it's only about a ten minute ride to royal gardens. The hotel rooms are very nice, and the whole facility has a very tranquil feel. The staff was also very friendly. Specifically sought hotel outside of Chiang Mai as we were driving and passing through. Hotel pictures don't match hotel. Very tired looking and in need of major refurbishment. Tried the I house restaurant in the evening, but they had to turn the lights on for us and place was empty, so we went outside. Had a coach load of Chinese tourists turn up at gone midnight and proceeded to slam doors and move furniture through to around 4am. Got very little sleep. Will not recommend. ##### Richard ### 6/10 Okay #### noriko, TOKYO 29 Nov 2015 Liked: Staff & service Disliked: Cleanliness, property conditions & facilities, room comfort #### チェンマイの中心部からは遠い 口コミの通りチェンマイの中心部からは遠いです。中心部で遊ぶのが目的だとして、位置関係をわかりやすく言うと、ホテル→空港→中心部という感じ。また、チェンマイは電車も無ければタクシーも少ないのです。ホテルの人に伝えてきて頂いたタクシーは交渉制、正直チェンマイのタクシー相場からいって、ホテル→中心部が300バーツというのは高いと思いましたが、運転手さんが若くて愛想もよく親切、かつ英語が話せて行きたいところもすぐ理解してくれるなら、そこをケチって嫌な思いをするよりは全然良いって結論です。 中心部でお祭り参加などが目的の場合はやめたほうが良いでしょう。 ##### noriko ### 6/10 Okay #### Verified traveller 4 Dec 2014 Liked: Staff & service Disliked: Property conditions & facilities, room comfort #### Inconvenient for tourist doesn't drive Far away from the city and also out from main road. No shutter service. Very inconvenient. Spent 300baht and waited for 20min everyday just to get a taxi to the nearest shop/mall. Also temperature from the water heater is also irregular. Man baucht dringend ein Auto! Taxis sind billig, aber jeden Tag ein Taxi ist dann irgendwann auch nicht mehr so billig und Taxifahrer sprechen kaum englisch. Hotel war super. sauber, ruhig gelegen, gratis Velos, zuvorkommendes und witziges Personal, gute Küche, sauber. Etwas abgelege Lage. Pool war immer super sauber. SPA naja. Gratis Internet und 2 PC mit schnellem Internet in der Lobby. It's not a bad place, but not luxurious in any way. Wellness is something you have to create by yourself - it has nothing to do about wellness treatments, so don't get excited about the name. The view of the mountains were amazing, and is was a quiet relaxing place. The staff were friendly and smiling, and the food was medium. The pool looks nice, but at the winter time it were too cold to use. The location is very bad if you want to go anywhere outside the hotel - it's far from everything, and almost impossible to get home if you go to the city at night - most of the taxies stops driving around 10pm. The water in the shower was very cold... sometimes it got a bit hot but quickly cold again, so impossible to enjoy a shower. They tried to charge for the "free" shuttle to the airport, but we denied paying. After we left, they called us and asked if we took the, non excisting, hair dryer from the room. We had our deluxe room for half the price - if we had payed full price I would have been extremely disapointed. If you don't mind cold showers, and just wanna relax at a medium hotel away from everything, then this place is ok. But the owners should really try to fix the water, renovate a bit, and get an all-time available transport for the guests - doesn't have to be free. ##### Verified traveller ### 6/10 Okay #### yoon, seoul 21 Nov 2013 Liked: Room comfort #### 도심지를 벗어나 자연속에 머물고 싶다면 추천. 1.위치 : 항동쪽에 위치하고 있음. 치앙마이의 볼 거리가 집중되어 있는 old city 나 님만해민과는 거리가 떨어져 있음(구글지도로 10km 외곽임). 따라서 따로 차를 렌트하지 않는 이상 숙소에 들어가면 나오기가 어려움. 들어가는 길도 큰 도로에서 한 참을 들어가야 함. 치앙아미의 대중교통인 톡톡이나 셩태우도 잘 안 감. 간다해도 많은 요금을 요구하기에 불편함. 공항과는 가까워서 출국하기 하루 전에 잠시 머무는 것으로 좋음. 2\. 시설 : 생각보다 크지 않음. 통 유리창으로 바깥을 볼 수 있어서 좋음. 3\. 직원 서비스 : 친절하게 응대함. 4\. 아침식사 : 우유와 시리얼, 야채만 먹었음. 물론 여러가지로 나오기는 하지만 크게 손이 가지는 않음. 4\. 총평 : 그냥 도심지를 벗어나서 조용하게 휴식하며 숙소에서 편안하게 쉬고 싶은 경우에 좋음. 아침에 일어나면 공기가 좋다는 생각, 풀냄새가 좋다는 생각이 듬. 1주일 여행중 5일간은 님만해민이나 올드시티, 나이트 바자쪽에 있는 숙소에 머물다가 출국 하루 전에 여기서 머물면서 조용히 사색하다가 나감. ##### yoon ### 6/10 Okay #### Mark, China 21 Nov 2013 Liked: Staff & service, room comfort #### Signs of Age The photos are from an earlier stage of life for this resort - it is certainly showing signs of age. Seemed quite remote and lonely, even during the busy festival weekend. Airport transfer was only one-direction (300B for return). Bedroom slippers looked dirty and show water pressure weak and variable. Beds were comfortable, room was quiet, and breakfast was good. The location is far from the normal buzz of Chiang Mai, but close to my home so convenient for me. Unfortunately, the hotel is trying to run with almost no staff and every aspect of their service was pretty much a mess. Breakfast was a disaster - almost 50 people sat and waited in hopes that any food would show up. There was only one man running the entire restaurant. The hotel has no general manager, no duty manager, no restaurant manager, and no F & B manager. The staff were trying, but they just couldn't handle the duties. Chiang Mai has a lot of great hotels. Consider staying at The Mercure - half the price, near the town, and well staffed. This hotel was built well, but the owners have just walked away and left the staff to try to survive.
