Situated on the edge of the glorious Brecon Beacons National Park, the historic cathedral town of Brecon may be a place to get away from it all, but that doesn’t mean it is hard to get to. Flights to both Cardiff and Bristol airport place the town in easy reach so you could be soaking up the atmosphere and tranquillity just a couple of hours after your flight lands.
Flights to Cardiff for Brecon
Cardiff Airport is just over 50 miles from Brecon and it’s an easy hour and a half drive from the airport to Brecon via the A470. Taxis are available just outside the terminal building or you can arrange your car hire with Expedia before your flight and pick your rental car up on arrival. Buses from the airport will take you to the centre of Cardiff from where you can catch one of the regular routes to Brecon.
Cardiff Airport is in the Vale of Glamorgan at Rhoose, just 12 miles east of the centre of the city. There are more than a million passengers using the airport every year and a wide variety of inbound and outbound flights to choose from.
The airport offers everything that you may need, including a selection of hotels on its doorstep, ATMs and exchange kiosks, places to freshen up and a good selection of places to have a snack or sit down for a meal.

Flights to Bristol for Brecon
Bristol Airport is a little further away, around 75 miles, but still places Brecon in reach by road in just over an hour and a half via the A40. Car rental or taxi are both available from the airport, as are buses, but you will need to take a bus to Cardiff first and then change (with a journey time of around 4 hours).
Bristol Airport is located at Lulsgate Bottom in North Somerset, just 8 miles southwest of Bristol city centre.
