Pros: 3 pluses - 1-clean, 2-hot shower, 3-breakfast.
The door did not shut all the way, so you could see daylight at least half way around. I found snow (itty bitty pile, but still snow) in the room. The housekeepers ran races up and down the walkway outside (sounded like that to me), which was concrete. One day it sounded like they were renovating/banging on pipes all day. They did not put salt down on the walkway outside the rooms, only came by with a shovel every few hours (snowed for 2 days). The only place that had salt was in front of the lobby. The ice machines/drink machines didn't work due to the cold. They used a bobcat to clear the parking lots, all day long, starting before 700am. Sat they were still running it at 1030pm when hubby was trying to sleep. Then people in rooms near us were very loud, so he had to call the front desk again. I was told "well we have to get the parking lot clear or people will complain". Not at 1030 at night you don't. I had to call once during the day because someone had their music so loud all I heard was bass all around me. When I called the front desk I didn't get any sympathy at all, especially sleeping during the day, I got the impression they didn’t care, because they already had their money. The first day I slept there, I got 4-5 hrs of sleep, 1-2 hrs at a time because of all the noise. There was a cigarette burn hole in the comforter. There were tiny holes in the curtain. One of the outlets didn’t work (for my phone charger). Another night nurse from the hospital stayed there also

Value for money hotel offering the essentials

Posted 22-Jan-2016
Pros: Easy check in and check out. Excellent wi-fi. Good beds. Good cleaning service.
Cons: A hotel in transition. Heaters and bath tubs need an overhaul, but it works. Breakfast could be replenished a bit earlier when stock runs out.
Location: Excellent location in the heart of Virginia. Monticello Richmond Appomattox Civil War Trails all within reach. Good restaurants next to hotel
A true value for money hotel. Clean rooms, excellent beds, decent magnetron, faultless Wi-Fi. Easy check-in and check out. Basic breakfast offering the essentials. Conveniently located next to highway without disturbing noises: no audible traffic sounds.

Sheets are definitely changed daily

Posted 17-Jan-2016
Pros: Nice Asian restaurant across the street, walking distance.
Without intending, I tested whether they change the sheets between customers. I checked in to room 320 for one night, and checked out the following day. In the afternoon, I decided to stay in this town another day, so I reserved another night. I called the hotel to see if they could give me room 320 again, and told them they didn't have to service the room. Manager told me the room had already been serviced. When I got into 320, I noticed the sheets were definitely changed.

Nice room, very clean.

Posted 06-Jan-2016
Pros: clearn, well appointed rooms
Cons: See above
Nice room, updated, clean. However, apparently construction workers stay there. They were all around us. They started leaving at 4 AM, making lots of noise in the room; starting their truck and leaving them running, talking in the walk ways. Suggestion: separate those that are leaving from 4-7 AM from other guests so that the noise will not wake the guests that are planning to wake after 7 AM.

Hotel close to shops and resturants.

Posted 26-Dec-2015
Pros: Was cheap, close to shops and resturants.
Cons: Attitude of reception staff.
Location: Great mall close by.
Hotel staff on arrival and leaving were far too busy playing on their personal phones to be interested in guests. On arrival we asked for a ground floor room, were told non available, it certainly didn't look that way, with many rooms empty. We were told to use the stairs to get to our room, I explained I had a knee injury and was having problems with stairs, just got a shrug. After getting to the room, we discovered the lift, which was working and would have made life more comfortable for me.

2 - 2.5 out of 5 is about right.

Posted 04-Dec-2015
Pros: Location.
Cons: Needs a remodel/updating. Parking is very limited as well.
If you're a frequent traveler and familiar w/Red Roof Inns, this one is about like the majority... nothing great by any means, even a little "used up", but not horrible either.

Pros: Proximity to Williamsburg historic village.
Not an above average Red Roof. Pretty dated. Repairs that had been done hadn't been done very well.
