Pros: Proximity to Williamsburg historic village.
Not an above average Red Roof. Pretty dated. Repairs that had been done hadn't been done very well.

Close to attractions

Pros: Very comfortable room
Location: Close to Monticello
Room was very comfortable and clean. Bedding and pillows were like one would expect in a higher priced hotel. Staff was pleasant. Close to Monticello.

Lots of traffic noise

Posted 29-Sep-2015
Pros: Room had refrigerator and microwave.
Cons: Fix things such as toilet paper holder that came out of the wall; clean the carpets or replace them; repaint all walls.
Location: Location was not too far from Monticello and near some good restaurants.
Room was OK but somewhat shabby. Parking lot was cramped for turning. Beds were OK and with earplugs we could block out traffic noise. Breakfast was rather poor; toaster did not work: coffee cups were smaller than most places and sweet rolls seemed stale. I would rate it 1 1/2 or 2 stars, but not 2 1/2.

Typical 1 or 2 star motel.

Posted 28-Sep-2015
Pros: Close to by-pass road.
Cons: Enforce non-smoking rules.
Location: Off street with many shops and restaurants.
We reserved a non-smoking room. Even though the room had a card inside saying no smoking, the room reeked of tobacco smoke which permeated everything even our own clothes. Leaving the door open for a couple of hours did not help. Apparently the staff does not try to enforce the written policy.

Pros: Clean
The room I was given had not been cleaned yet. I was able to switch to another room. The second romm i got smelt of smoke even though, it was designated a non-smoking room. However, the room was very clean and the staff friendly and professional.

Seen Better Days

Posted 21-Sep-2015
Pros: The pillows
Cons: The bed (harder &less squeaky), the bathroom (complete makeover), better seating, is a jet tub really necessary?
Clearly this hotel had seen better days. Overall, the hotel needs a complete remodel. AT one time, many years ago, a one night stay at Red Roof Inn was only $25. Well that is all we should have paid for this room. Instead we are paying nearly the same prices >$150 per night as we would in much nicer hotels around the area. This was a total disappointment. Additionally, the parking is inadequate for the amount of rooms. The lot itself was just too narrow/tight and made parking and maneuvering more difficult.

One necessary night

Posted 19-Sep-2015
Pros: Price
Cons: Better looking breakfast with more options
Location: Close enough to access appointments in town or at college.
Loud other guests outside shouting upon arrival. Questionable clientele, but who can help that?
