Clean and no smoke smell in non-smoking room. But a lot of people smoke in the hall way.

Good hotel for a one or two stay.

Posted 14-Oct-2017
Pros: It's proximity to Monticello. Good breakfast. Easy to locate
Cons: Touch up paint in rooms.
This hotel is close to Monticello; less than ten miles away. Easy to find off a highway and situated next to a Days Inn and another similar hotel. We were surprised that the floor in our room wasn't carpeted which isn't a bad thing. A Chinese restaurant and (an expensive) steak house are a quick walk away. My husband was uncomfortable sleeping on the mattress, I thought it was okay. Good breakfast with waffles, hard boiled eggs, etc. Nice pleasant staff at front desk.

Pleasant, Could have been better.

Posted 14-Oct-2017
Pros: Good mattress on the bed. Hot water quickly available.
Cons: Air conditioning was not the best.
Location: Behind Days Inn and another motel. Too rainy to go out in the evening that day.
My husband has trouble walking any distance, and we were as far from the elevator as possible. Thank goodness there was an elevator since our room was on the second floor.

Only If REALLY Desperate

Posted 09-Oct-2017
Pros: It had a bed and running water.
Cons: Cleanliness. They need to really upgrade their cleaning. The floors probably haven't been cleaned in months....if ever.
Location: Great location. Very close to UVA.
Virtually everything in town was sold out so I had very little choice. The room was your basic motel. That's okay and to be expected. What wasn't to be expected is that after I showered and walked back across the uncarpeted floor to get dressed, my feet became black from the filth that was caked on there. Doesn't anyone mop the floors? It was disgusting. Oh, the tv didn't work either. When I told the folks at the front desk they told me I had to attach some cable. Good to know. Not a place you want to be staying.

older property but rooms remodeled

Posted 06-Oct-2017
Pros: clean
Cons: stairs/halls
Fairly near airport, clean. Helpful staff. Stairs and walkways need to be redone, but the room I was in had been. No elevator. nice Chinese restaurant across the street. Good value for the price.

Convenient but obviously a budget motel

Posted 15-Sep-2017
Pros: Easy check in and check out. Price. Convenience. Free Wi-Fi (a surprising rarity at many hotels these days). Distance from car to room.
Cons: Bed, bathroom fixtures, ceiling (paint). I think it is more of a motel then a hotel. Vehicles park head-on facing room windows.
Location: It's right off the infamous route 29. There are plenty of businesses nearby including restaurants, gas stations, car dealerships, etc.
It is obvious the owners try pretty hard and take pride in the property but this is just a bad setup. At the current price point they are going to attract a certain element. Based on the number of pick-up trucks and their engine start-up hour the majority of the guest during our stay were contractors. The rooms are just meant for a night's sleep. The TV is nice and everything appears just clean enough where you shouldn't be afraid of bed bugs or germs. The ceiling paint was chipped in a few areas with chips ready to drop at any moment. Some of the bathroom fixtures were a little worn/rusty and the shower vent also. The King sized bed was easy enough to fall asleep on but made for a sore back each morning for my wife and I. We noticed the bedding felt 'damp' on our last night. I am guessing the bedding was washed but not dried entirely. All in all it is a good place to stop on a road trip but it wears on you the longer you stay. I wouldn't call it a family friendly place. Again everything was clean enough but it was just too "budget" for our liking. Compared to nearby hotels it truly was a bargain if you can live without some of the extra touches. Check in and check out was quick and easy. If you are on a budget it is at least clean but just not "pleasant", mostly because of how the rooms are situated, the other guests, the bed, etc., but that may be more preference then anything else.
