We had a wonderful time here. The view alone is worth the trip—if I could give it 6 stars, I would. We’ve visited Charlevoix many times but usually stay closer to town. This was our first time staying near the state park, and we’re so glad we did. Tucked back among the trees with the water just beyond, the property felt private and peaceful while still offering easy access to the beach. The home was a great value and had everything we needed. One thing worth noting for future guests is that there is no traditional air conditioning. We mistakenly assumed there was, which was our oversight, but it may be helpful information for others. The whole-house fan did a nice job of keeping the house comfortable. We also found ourselves setting up at the state park beach, which was a short walk away. We had initially pictured being able to set up directly at the house, so that’s something to keep in mind. It wasn’t an issue for us, and the provided beach wagon made hauling gear much easier. The reason for the 4-star rating was cleanliness. Overall, the house was in good condition, and we understand it’s an older home. There were just a few areas that could have used a little more attention, and some of the updates showed signs of wear. Nothing major enough to impact our enjoyment, but enough that it didn’t quite feel like a 5-star experience.Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would gladly book this property again.
