The first floor has an open layout with a living and dining area. The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas range, microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator. The bathroom is located off the kitchen and features a stacked washer dryer, tub shower and pedestal sink. There are heart pine hardwood floors throughout the first floor with many original features. Bedroom #1: Queen Bed Living Room space with a futon Queen Air Mattress + Additional Bedding (Available upon request) Potential for Noise: Due to the home’s historic character and close proximity to all the city has to offer, some road and city noise may be heard. Had all the amenities that I needed - except a baking sheet! Nice towels, linens. Quiet neighborhood. Older neighborhood, but felt very safe. Under two miles to the downtown Charleston area - I walked it. Very doable. My only recommendation would be to add a deadbolt lock to the kitchen door that opens to the outside. Would just feel a little more secure - or a latch on the inside maybe.Bathroom is downstairs, so you have to navigate stairs in the middle of the night, if you’re one of those people and that’s a concern for you.Parking was great - right behind the cottage. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Communication with owner was great. Charleston City Market, The Lost History of Black Charleston walking tour led by historian and educator Damon Fordham, and Folly Beach were among my favorite experiences. My friend enjoyed the wine complimentary of the Vrbo, which was a nice way to cap off our wonderful stay in Charleston. We both thoroughly enjoyed our visit and look forward to returning. The layout was fine for us; however, some may not like that the bathroom is so separate from the bedroom (downstairs then up two steps and through the kitchen) for bathroom trips in the middle of the night. The neighborhood is quiet and the apartment itself is cozy while offering plenty of space for two people to lounge in comfortably.
