Loved staying here! The property, inside and out, was beautiful. The staff were wonderful and helpful. The bed was very comfortable. The view of the park and the river across the street was lovely. All the positives make up for the location being a bit further from restaurants and bars, although within walking distance depending on your abilities. We’d stay here again!

The property is stunning. The room was comfortable, though it could have used more storage space. The plumbing is up-to-date, which is always a concern when booking a vintage property. The various on-duty managers were always friendly, charming and helpful. And it is delightful staying in this neighborhood! I would vigorously recommend this hotel.

If you are looking for a place to stay and experience the history of Charleston, i highly recommend this special place. Furnished in period antiques and featuring carefully restored and maintained rooms, but with a few modern upgrades, this home is fantastic. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and we had a wonderful visit.

We booked two carriage house rooms for a long weekend and it was amazing. Let's start with the location. White Point Garden is directly across the street. It is an easy walk to the Battery. About a mile to Pineapple Fountain, etc. There is plenty of street parking (permit provided on check in) so you could park and walk almost anywhere. Or catch the free Dash bus nearby. Rooms 1-3 were spacious and comfortable. Breakfast can be served in the small dining area or delivered to your room. The options offered (provided from a local bakery) were all very good. The charcuterie/mocktail reception was also a nice plus. Bonus points for the coffee, water and insect repellent provided in the lobby. The staff is wonderful. The one minor problem we had on our last night was handled immediately and efficiently. I don't usually leave reviews but 20 South Battery deserves 5 stars. I would give a bonus star if I could.

Beautiful historic boutique hotel with all the southern charms. Comfortable, clean with some nice extra touches like free water and brekky. Also free parking across the street and right near the waterfront. Within walking distance of King Street and restaurants. Would definitely stay here again.
