What a majestic area with lots wonderful things to do and see during the entire day / night. If you can afford it, the Fine Dining in the Old Mill experience is not to be missed! My only tips is to reserve a top floor and bring your own water / drinks / snacks. They have cash only vending machines only at the extremities of the site after the general store closes (5 pm). Other than that, it was an amazing stay!
Everything was above and beyond our expectations. We stayed in a room above the general store and it was very clean, quiet and up to date.
The village itself is incredible. A great journey through time in this historic town. While wandering along the empty streets I really felt like I was back in the early 1900's. There were rows of empty homes that are in various stages of disrepair. Some of the old buildings were updated, furnished from the period and made available to tour. All of the paths are nicely manicured and there is lighting along pathways and stairs that add a bit of magic to the area.
The water falls and mill were fantastic, the restaurant was superb, and the trolley and aerial tramway were running regularly throughout the day and felt very safe. The staff were all very helpful and kind. We did not realize that all of the access to the town was free with our stay at the hotel, including a very delicious breakfast at the mill. A huge plus.
We speak English, (very little French), but most of the staff speak some English. There was an English translated version of the presentation at the mill and most of the self guided signs along the village had English translations. (all the plays and reenactments were in French, but watching these performances was still very entertaining.)
Loved this place: it was enchanting!
not the best organized place
no one knew when the bus was passing,
people telling me the cableway (téléférique) was closed, but it wasnt . no one answering the desk .
my room was with a folcable bed, that would block the fridge giving you no space , (basically room not made for two beds)
but the place,

all top Notch
Wow! What a unique stay for our group of 8 'bleuets' cyclists. All rooms, be it above the general store or in the row house, were clean, quiet and with enough extras for our 1 night stay. The 3 course dinner (extra charge, must reserve well in advance) at the mill restaurant was the best meal on our circuit. A continental breakfast with fresh local bread and an egg dish is included. Hotel guests have access to the site after hours. Secure bike storage rooms. Photos of the grounds; no photos of the rooms.
It made you feel back in time. Beautiful room great 4 course dinber with great Server Merrick made our ambiance awesome.
Breakfast next morning was also great.
We enjoyed ourselves so much we are planning on returning soon with Friends and redo our stay again.
It was a unique experience but was quite disappointed with both the dinner and especially the breakfast at the Moulin. Also asked for an extra pillow as my boyfriend had injured his knee and needed to keep it elevated. It was never provided
