If you are driving yourself you will need 4 wheel drive as the driveway is steep and a bit rocky. Romey will work with you to get you a ride if you need one at a fair price. "J'ai beaucoup aimé l'endroit. C'est en pleine nature, on peut y voir beaucoup d'animaux. Les équipements sont un peu rustiques, mais ça donne un vibe plus authentique. J'ai bien aimé mon séjour à jaser avec Jim (le propriétaire), c'est un homme fascinant, il semble un peu rough, mais est une bonne personne. La route pour s'y rendre à partir de Montezuma est un chemin de terre, mais était en très bon état (janvier). Il y a de bons petits restaurants à 5-10 minutes a pied de l'hotel."

"Hotel Belmar is a food and drink destination as well as being well located for enjoying all Monteverde has to offer. The staff present honest enthusiasm for all the hotel has to offer, and are welcoming and helpful. They can easily arrange taxis for you to any of the local sights (as uber doesn’t operate here). The restaurant is fantastic as well as the craft brewery and their fermented fruit wines. This was one of my favourite experiences ever."
