4.6/5 Wonderful! (24 reviews)
Torel Palace Porto is a wonderful hotel. The staff are friendly, eager to help, and speak English very well. The hostess at breakfast and the breakfast crew in general (including the wonderful egg chef) are exceptional. Vincent, on the night shift for drinks, was stellar as well: very personable and down to earth.
The hotel has a few quirks: for example, our bathroom didn't quite have a full door, and the moulding on the bathroom wall is made of something like Styrofoam. I also imagine that sound-proofing may be an issue in some rooms (though Room 3, being next to the spa, is a good choice for those sensitive to noise).
Other quirks of the hotel are most welcome. The decor overall is stunning. The library/lounge is fantastic(al) and the restaurant (featuring black walls and decor) is extremely handsome by night (if a bit too dark for breakfast). Also: the literary theme is a nice touch: I just wish that there were English translation of Julio Dinis's works in our room!
My many thanks to the staff at Torel Palace Porto for the wonderful stay. If I'm back in Porto soon, I'll certainly be stopping by!
