What didn’t like: The hotel insisted on charging €30 a day for an infant (7month old), €150 for the trip. While the hotel has excellent facilities for children (1 year+) it does not cater at all babies. Aside from bottle warmers in the dining areas and the common courtesy of a cot in the room & high chair, there was nothing else. None of the toilets throughout the village had baby changing facilities and of course the food options were not applicable. The premium restaurant was also inaccessible for push chairs (stairs only, no elevator). The additional cost was excessive and in bad faith with that in mind. What we did like: Our room was pristine, a decent size and the shower (which is key measure for me in a hotel) was really great. The staff, especially around the dining areas were generally excellent. Friendly and courteous to us with our minimal/bad Italian and amazing with our child. The food was great, probably as good or better than the food we had outside of the resort, especially in the Mirto(?) restaurant. The selection was large, fresh and varied from day to day, better than we initially expected from a half board.

Friendly professional staff! Beautiful hotel in the historical centre of Cagliari, near restaurants, bars and shopping! Great breakfast! Free parking!

We stayed at Arbatax Hotel for four nights with my family and were given room 132 on the first floor. Unfortunately, I would definitely not recommend this particular room. Until around 11:30 pm, loud music from the restaurant downstairs could be clearly heard in the room. On two of the nights, we could also hear very loud music from what seemed to be a nightclub nearby, probably across the road, until around 3–4 am. This made it very difficult to sleep. The hotel has an old-fashioned style, and I appreciate that they have tried to preserve its original character. However, the bathroom was a major disappointment. The shower tray is only about 1 cm high, so when you take a shower, water flows out onto the bathroom floor and the entire toilet area becomes flooded. We reported this problem to reception on our first day. We explained that we could not properly use the bathroom when the whole floor was wet and asked either for the room to be changed or for the shower to be repaired. Unfortunately, neither request was accepted. Nobody came to inspect the problem. Instead, we were simply given some extra towels. This was particularly disappointing because we expected the hotel to take such a basic maintenance issue seriously. The safe in our room also did not work. Eventually, someone came to repair it and we were told that the battery was dead.
