    We received the original and the renewals of the highly sought after short term vacation rental seal of approval/certificate from the County of Hawaii meeting all their stringent requirements. When you rent our home you receive the entire home guaranteeing privacy for you and your family or friends. The Lanai/ Patio and home was designed and layed out for complete privacy. You are staying on the ocean. The ocean is your backyard with this house's location. We ask that prospective guests simply read the reviews from our previous guests both on this website and other rental platforms to get an honest true description of what makes our place so special !

    This absolute Ocean Front Home it is not situated on a sea cliff but is just a few feet above sea level on sheltered PaPa Bay. Because of this lots unique topography and elevation you are just above the water line and a few steps from walking to the water. Additionally a minute walk away is a public access point in the Bay which the neighbourhood uses to safely go into the water. Please refer to our pictures for a better appreciation of our location on the Ocean. Aside from the superb ocean location and access this house affords, it is a fairly new concrete home designed to meet and surpass all the latest safety and building codes. It is a 2 Bedroom home with the Master Bedroom having an oversized King sized California Bed. This room has a 12 foot wide glass sliding door directly facing the Ocean. The second bedroom has a queen bed. This 2nd bedroom room has a large 6 foot by 4 foot window for views of the Ocean also. In addition it has another 6 foot x 2 foot window for mountain views. The house has 7 separate sliding glass doors which capitalize on it's stunning ocean views. Appliances are all brand new.. The cabinets in the kitchen were custom designed and built for the home. Finally the best way to describe our home is to simply let our previous guests who have stayed there do it for us. It has been almost 7 years since we built the home brand new and have we have been renting it. We have had numerous guests over the years and everyone so far has been very happy with the home and our communications and tips that we give them. This has made Mindy and I very happy knowing that when we set out on building our dream to make a perfect vacation home , it has been realized based due to the happiness and satisfaction of our past guests.

Incredible stay! Right on the water. Was able to listen to the waves all night long with the doors open while feeling completely safe. Dan was so kind and informative. He was even willing to help with car problems at 6am so that I could make my flight. The location is perfect if you want a quiet spot away from all the tourist traps while staying in a friendly, safe, and welcoming community. Will be my go to spot when I come back.

Choosing this house to stay was by far the best decision we made for our Hawaii vacation. The host was so nice and gave the most thorough information and advise on visiting his home and the surrounding areas. The home itself was so nice, it was very open with high ceilings and 6 sliding doors that allowed the smell and sounds of the ocean move through the spaces. The poured floor that goes through the whole house is breathtaking. Being right beside the ocean was exactly what we needed to relax. We spent mutiple days hanging at the house and visiting the local beaches/tidepools just down the road. We ended up having the beach areas all to ourselves. I highly recommend this home and the host to anyone who is looking for a unique and memorable Hawaiian adventure.

Just what we were looking for. If you want to just relax and enjoy staying at a wonderful spot, this is it. Our host was very helpful and gave us good info on close by water and beach access. We brought our kayak with us and enjoyed the ocean without having to go very far. Would definitely stay here again. any real distance from the house.

Amazing Stay with Stunning Ocean Views

My family had a wonderful visit, and we enjoyed the privacy of this location. Every morning and evening we sat on the porch and looked for whales. Dan, the property owner, was very responsive and gave helpful recommendations for activities and places to visit. The house had everything we needed, and check in and out was very easy!! Truly on the Edge of the Ocean

Comfortable and spacious lodging. Perfect for ending our month-long visit to the Big Island. The sounds of the waves was hypnotic. I needed internet to teach and, despite the remote area, was teaching kids on the mainland. You need to be a bit rwith all my tech.

The host was great and the house nice and clean. If you want remote with lots of stars and quiet by the ocean then this is great. About 45 minutes from the world but not an issue for us. If you need civilization then maybe not for you.

Property was very nice. We saw whales in the bay. Sunsets were phenomenal. Drive in was a little crazy, but once there, it was beautiful. We were out most of the day, so it wasn't a big deal, but there was active construction going on next door during our visit. Also, the mosquitoes were no joke. Strongly recommend bringing both spray and candles if you plan on eating outside.

Awesome spot. So quiet at night and good to look at stars from. Just what we needed. Daniel is an awesome host. Very helpful with vacation ideas . We did most of them and loved it. Kitchen very well stocked. It has everything. Will come back for sure. If you can arrive at daytime....not a bad idea. I still arrived at night with no issues just take your time.

Beautiful Spot Away from the City

The location of this house on the lava rock cliffs overlooking the ocean is amazing. The sound of the waves day/night, and the beautiful blue water is something we enjoyed every day. The location is a bit (45 minutes) out of Kona, so if you don't want to drive much, this probably isn't for you. We enjoyed the winding drive in and out of the neighborhood. The neighborhood itself was very quiet and peaceful. The house is nice with lots of little perks (spices, ample outdoor seating, etc.). The furnishings aren't fancy but are fine. If you are looking for a 5-star hotel, this isn't it, but if you are looking for a quaint, lovely place on the ocean, we would definitely recommend this rental.

Loved Every Minute!!

First of all…we can’t say enough about the property’s owners. They are down to earth people who made us feel so much at home. They gave us tips on places to go and things to do. If we needed anything or had any questions they immediately responded. The house is very comfortable and homey but the view is absolutely breathtaking. If you are looking for a place to relax or a base to come and go from, we promise you will not be disappointed!! We didn’t want to leave and even though this was a bucket list vacation, we will probably go back!

Dream Home

Upon entering the property, you're met with the open spaciosness of the house, sliding glass windows on just about every wall to let you enjoy the immense beauty of the ocean surroundings. Large modern kitchen with everything you would need - The California king was so very comfortable, slept in complete bliss every night - This was our 4th time in Miloli'i, so the road down for is just like many other roads on the Big Island, windy - Dan the owner was extremely courteous and being just down the road, we knew we had someone we could count on, if needed - As far as we are concerned, if Dan and Mindy are renting, we'll be coming every year!

Great family vacation

We enjoyed our stay at the oceanfront house. The ocean view was amazing. The house was clean and fully stocked. The beds were very comfortable. The location was great. We found a great snorkeling area in the nearby Honomalino beach. We had the entire beach to ourselves. We enjoyed our morning hikes to the lava rock field at the end of the street. The star gazing was amazing. During our stay, it was very hot and humid. The fans and windows were inadequate to cool down the house at night. We wished the house had covered patios in the back to enjoy the house in the afternoon. Overall we enjoyed our peaceful stay and recommended this home to our friends.

Great place to unwind!

12 glorious days of sun, fishing, utter relaxation, and an 800 foot lava fountain to put the cherry on top! Hale Hokulani was equipped with everything we needed. View is breathtaking & the hubby enjoyed catching our dinner right outside. All the sliding glass doors and ceiling fans keeps the house nice and cool. There was an internet outage that covered a large portion of the island and Daniel was great about keeping us updated on the status. You are about an hour from Kona & two hours from Hilo. Perfect if you want to do some day trips. Besides the lava tower, watching our niece's halau win top honors at Merrie Monarch made the trip priceless! Mahalo Daniel, we will be back. Oceanfront retreat

Was a great choice for our stay in Hawaii! The oceanfront views were a spectacular way to start and end our days, soaking in the beauty of the morning sunrise and the amazing sunsets right over the water. The home was very spacious and well cared for. With no shade and no AC there were times it got rather warm, however we used this time to explore and enjoy the island. Dan is great, he provided a lot of information that was helpful during our stay; both in regards to the house and around the island. With a just a short walk we were able to access the ocean for some morning snorkeling; the access however, even with the steps, can be a bit tricky as the steps can be slick and the waves crashing in. Overall it’s an excellent home and would definitely stay here again!

soothing waves

We had been in a VRBO two houses down - 9 yrs ago so knew all about the area - no surprizes except the new housing . Loved watching the waves and going to sleep with doors open and waves crashing in. Away from the city and quiet nights is what we want. Adequet internet and TV for those few lazy days. Place is spacious comfortable and clean. What else does anyone need? The skinny dipping teenagers a couple houses down one afternoon were a bonus. Kona is an hour way on a winding road, but that was well known to us and is not a problem as we dont care to visit the city we went the other direction mostly and visited the wilds.
