I was in a basement room underneath the lobby, with a window looking out on the street which massively lacked privacy and for security not comfortable. Unfortunately, there is no loadshedding plan in place with no inverter nor minimum service, nor even backup lights in the room until asked. However, there is no backup battery when power goes out (and SA has been having power issues for few years now); not even a backup battery for the WiFi or one light in the room. The door to my room was not working well; the doorknob had an issue, which management knew about but hadn't fixed it. My room was on the ground floor so when power went out in the night, I had to open the windows for fresh air, but there were no mosquito nets and it felt unsafe to leave the windows open (they did have bars on the windows but you're still on the street.
