"This was an awesome place to host 80th celebration- plenty of room for 8 adults and teenagers to be together or escape if they needed to. Great to have use of kayaks and pool table. Parapara as location ' close to Vollingwood, Wharariki beach or back to Takak. "

"The bach is a perfect spot for exploring Te Tauihu (the top of the South Island). Positioned on the beach at Pākawau, there is always a beach walk or birds to watch. The bach is a classic kiwi bach with sparkling new bathrooms and a small but perfectly functional kitchen. We loved opening the door to the lawn and beach and relaxing. It is a short drive up to Pūponga, the access point for Wharariki Beach and Cape Farewell. The Farewell Spit tour will pick you up from the road outside the bach too! The local campground has a little shop and there is a bigger shop, as well as the lovely Courthouse cafe in Collingwood. "

"This home was excellent for our group of 6. Everything as shown in the listing. Lovely view, warm, homely with nice quality linen and special treats and touches by Canada, the host. Some lovely bush walks on the doorstep. We would definitely book this property again."

"Die Bilder auf der Homepage sehen super einladend aus. Wir haben uns darauf gefreut, auf unserer Reise auch einmal etwas länger an einem schönen Ort zu verweilen. Als wir jedoch angekommen sind, haben wir ein Haus angetroffen, welches nicht mehr gepflegt wird. Mit Ausnahme der Küche und dem Bett, war es teils klebrig staubig und es hatte überall Spinnweben. Es schien auch, dass das Häuschen Monate nicht mehr bewohnt war. Offensichtlich hat man kurz vor unserer Ankunft die Küche oberflächlich geputzt und das Bett frisch angezogen. Das Haus, der Balkon und der Garten scheinen verwahrlost. So etwas haben wir in Neuseeland bis jetzt nie angetroffen. Wir entschlossen uns, die 4 Tage erst gar nicht anzutreten. Wir nahmen sofort mit Bookabach Kontakt auf. Wir wollen diese Situation zu diesem Preis nicht akzeptieren. Sie konnten uns gleichentags nicht helfen und wir mussten allein für eine neue Unterkunft sorgen. Es hätte umgehend jemand vorbeikommen müssen, um die Situation zu klären, was nicht geschah. Wir haben uns entschieden, nicht zu bleiben, weil wir uns in unseren Ferien wohl fühlen wollen. Wir haben der Bewertung (8.6 excellent) vertraut. Nun sind wir in Verhandlung mit Bookabach, dass sie uns das im Vertrauen im Voraus bezahlte Geld zurückzahlen. Der Kundendienst zeigte bei den vielen Telefongesprächen zwar immer Verständnis, aber war letztlich nicht wirklich hilfsbereit. Es ist für uns eine grosse Enttäuschung. Wir hoffen auf Fairness. "

However it's very tired and needs some serious love.If I had paid perhaps up to 400 per night this would have been somewhat acceptable but to pay over 700 night was exorbitant!It was booked a few weeks beforehand which left me with very minimal choice, however the photos left me with the impression that it was a well maintained property."
