You enjoy a dream view of the bay, the sea and into the country. When the sun rises in the morning next to Menorca (or sometimes the moon in the evening), this is an unforgettable moment. Due to the loose development and dense forest in our street you can enjoy undisturbed and mostly secluded your vacation. On 2 levels, the house has 3 bedrooms, 2 shower rooms with showers (the upper ensuite), a guest toilet, a living room with separate dining area, a kitchen (with American fridge including ice cube dispenser and a stove with 4 plates, of which 2 with gas operated) and a laundry room (with washer and dryer). All rooms are comfortably furnished. From all bedrooms you have a fantastic sea view and all of them are equipped with AC. The 3 different terraces invite everyone to linger and also offer larger groups the opportunity to find an undisturbed place at any time. On the upper terrace facing the bay there is a large dining table and a Weber gas grill. On the lower covered terrace by the pool there is a cozy lounge corner and a hammock. Spread out on the terraces are 8 deck chairs. One of the bedrooms has an annex separated by a light and opaque curtain. In this annex are two mattresses that can be used as a sofa or sleeping. For example, a family with children can spend a good night together - we can confirm that from our own experience! The life of the day takes place anyway on the (partly covered) terraces. You can use Wi-Fi via fiber-optic cable, which makes streaming on our Smart TV or working on your laptop relaxed and fast. You can also control the Sonos boxes via the WLAN. Netflix is pre-set on Smart TV and available for free. The approximately 28sqm saltwater pool can be heated to about 28 degrees if desired (against settlement of the resulting electricity costs). Directly at the pool there is an outdoor shower with hot and cold water. Of course, we use a decalcification system in the house, which is why the water can be safely used for showering and cooking. If you want to come in winter in our house, you can look forward to warm rooms thanks to the existing gas heating. In addition, the house has an automatic ventilation system with hot / cold air and a fireplace, which warms up the living room and dining room comfortably and neatly. Additional firewood we can reorder for a surcharge. We like to rent to families, because we have 2 small children. You will find a toddler equipment (cot, children's bedding, high chair, baby bath, potty buggy, ...), toys, games, sand toys, aquatic animals, etc. We are happy to share everything with you, because we have always appreciated, even on vacation, that we did not have to bring everything with us. The place Canyamel is now one of the insider tips on the island. In recent years, four 5-star hotels have been built in the village. The bay is picturesque and family friendly. The beach is fine-sanded and the sea is flat. There are two beach bars directly on the sandy beach. For families, it's very convenient that the kids next door can play in sight in the sand, while the adults let the day fade away. In the village there is a fine and small selection of local restaurants. In the surrounding area you will find very good Agroturismo as well as Michelline star cuisine. We are happy to give you some individual tips if you are interested. On the Costa de Canyamel, where our house is located, there is a picturesque little bay with two small natural beaches. Here you can snorkel very well or jump from the rocks in the crystal clear water. Adjacent there is a nice restaurant where you can strengthen yourself before or after swimming. Canyamel offers a tennis court and a golf club. Three other golf clubs are located in the area. On the beach you can rent pedal boats and SUPs. Safety instructions: Since the house is located on the top slope, it is very important that families with small children inform their children about the risks. In our house, 4 children have grown up since birth and we enjoyed every holiday to the fullest and without any problems. But with children care must be taken that they do not bend over the parapet so that there is no danger of falling. In addition, there is a risk of slipping on the patio tiles when they are wet. The pictures of the outlook online were honest but the view itself even better. The weather was kind so we spent much of our time on the various terraces and ate mostly at the villa although ventured down the hill to the excellent Cala Rotja. The facilities at the villa are very good. The interior rather dark but homely. The pool was 27c so ideal. Very deep so probably not suitable for non-swimmers to chill out in. We were forewarned that the road (urbanisation) was pretty rough - indeed it was with some impressive pot holes. OK to navigate once we got used to it - our arrival in the dark was an interesting test run! Katharina was very helpful, responding to queries by email ahead of our arrival. Die Freude wich jedoch schnell der Ernüchterung, als wir das Innere des Hauses besichtigten.Statt des erwarteten Standards fanden wir eine Reihe von Mängeln vor. Wir entdeckten bedenkliche elektrische Installationen mit offenliegenden Kabeln und stellten an mehreren Wänden Feuchtigkeit und Schimmel fest. Ein alter Wasserschaden in der Küche war nur notdürftig verdeckt - eigentlich waren alle Ecken zugemüllt. Auch der Schlafkomfort ließ zu wünschen übrig, da die Matratzen stark durchgelegen und nicht ausreichend sauber waren.Besonders bedenklich war für uns die Beobachtung, dass Abwässer aus dem Haus anscheinend ungeklärt direkt in den Garten geleitet wurden. Dies stellt nicht nur für Gäste, sondern auch für die Umwelt ein Problem dar.Unsere Erfahrung zeigt, dass eine schöne Aussicht und ein hoher Preis keine Garantie für Qualität sind. Wir können uns der (einzigen) schlechten Rezension nicht anschließen. Das Haus hatte zwar auch bei uns zu Beginn einen merkwürdigen Geruch: wie sich dann aber herausstellte, lag das an den Duftspendern. Nachdem wir diese entfernt hatten, gab es keine Gerüche mehr. Das Haus ist toll gelegen, ganz oben am Hang (ohne Auto geht es nicht!), man hat eine grandiose Sicht auf die Bucht. Der Pool hat eine gute Größe (ist aber verhältnismäßig tief - selbst bei 2m Körpergröße kann man gerade so stehen). Die Hängematte am Pool ist einfach toll, man kann mit Blick auf Pool und Bucht dort herrlich entspannen, ebenso in der überdachten Lounge-Ecke. Uns hat es an nichts gefehlt, wir haben den Urlaub sehr genossen. Der Kontakt mit der Gastgeberin war reibungslos und unkompliziert - bei Problemen wurde sofort Abhilfe geschaffen. Die Aussicht auf die Bucht ist atemberaubend und wunderschön, das Haus hat eine angenehme Größe .. Aber es ist deutlich in die Jahre gekommen! Was wir auf den Bildern als landestypische Möblierung hielten, sind allesamt alte Möbel. Über Geschmack lässt sich streiten .. aber unseren traf er dann doch nicht. Schon beim Eintreten umgab uns ein muffiger Geruch, der auch nach tagelangem Lüften und Raumsprays nicht besser wurde. Alte verstaubte Korbmöbel mit fleckigen und ausgeblichen Polstern. Berge von Büchern die sich auf dem Treppengeländer türmen. Unordnung auf den Regalen in den einzelnen Zimmern, Kaum Aufhängemöglichkeiten für die Kleidung (die blieb dann in den koffern), meist nur Regalböden, die zudem auch als Ablage der Bettdecken und Kinderspielzeugen dienten. Die Ausstattung in der Küche war ok, allerdings ist auch hier die Möblierung in die Jahre gekommen. Aufgequollene Regalböden zeugen von zuviel Feuchtigkeit, ebenso die vielen leeren Entfeuchtungsboxen im Hauswirtschaftsraum. Generell würde eine frische Farbe und gründliche Reinigung Not tun. Nur ein Fernsehgerät im Wohnraum vorhanden. Auf der Terrasse zahllose leere Pflanztöpfe, zum Teil mit Resterde, sehr trostlos. Ungefegter Boden, auf der Treppe lag eine alte Metallstange, Da einem Familienmitglied mit Asthma und Hausstauballergie der längere Aufenthalt nicht mehr zumutbar war, haben wir den Urlaub abgebrochen und sind in ein Hotel gezogen. Wie frühere Bewertungen bereits angemerkt haben, ist die Aussicht wirklich besser als auf den Bildern! Die Location oben am Hang ist wirklich einmalig mit viel Privatsphäre. Das Haus selbst ist super ausgestattet, es hat an nichts gefehlt. Wir waren dankbar für den Buggy und die Spielsachen. Die Lounge im Poolbereich unten ist sehr gemütlich, sogar mit Heizstrahler für kühlere Nächte. An einem Abend hat uns sogar eine Gottesanbeterin besucht, das war sehr interessant. Von Anfang bis Ende ein perfekter Urlaub! Kathi war schon vorab immer zu erreichen und stand bei allen Fragen zur Verfügung. Das Haus ist sehr geräumig und hat mehr als ausreichend Platz (drinnen und draußen). Wir haben insbesondere die Terrasse mit dem Grill und den Bereich um den Pool genutzt. Der Außenbereich ist liebevoll gestaltet - von jeder Terrasse aus kann man den einzigartigen Blick aufs Meer genießen. Alle zwei Tage kommt der „Hausmeister“ vorbei und kontrolliert die Wasserqualität des Pools. Auch er steht für Fragen immer zur Verfügung. Die Küche ist super ausgestattet. Überall merkt man die Liebe zum Detail und die Aufmerksamkeit der Eigentümer. Das Haus ist der perfekte Ausgangspunkt um Mallorca zu entdecken und zu entspannen. Der Blick über die Bucht von Canyamel bis hin nach Menorca ist traumhaft und das Licht, besonders am frühen Morgen, einmalig. Das Haus hat eine tolle Ausstattung, es bietet alles, was man sich für einen entspannten Urlaub nur wünschen kann: es hat alles, was man zum Chillen, Sonnen, Kochen, Grillen, Schwimmen... braucht. Waschmaschine, Trockner, Berge von Handtüchern und eine große Bibliothek mit Ferienlektüre ermöglichen es einem, mit leichtem Gepäck zu reisen. Das Wasser im Pool war selbst Ende September auch unbeheizt noch so warm, dass wir täglich baden konnten. Von der Gastgeberin Katharina erhielten wir vorab sehr ausführliche und nützliche Informationen über das Haus und Tipps zu Restaurants und Ausflugszielen, so begann die Vorfreude bereits zu hause. Ihre Hinweise zu den schlechten Straßenverhältnissen am Hang waren sehr hilfreich bei der Auswahl des Mietwagens. Überhaupt war der Kontakt mit Katharina sehr angenehm und bei Fragen war sie jederzeit ansprechbar. Noch einmal Danke an Katharina!
