Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The house was clean, spacious, and well appointed, with a large open kitchen and living area that was perfect for gathering. The bedroom layout was great, with two master suites, and the kitchen was stocked with plenty of dishes, bowls, knives, cups, a mixer, and other essentials.A few issues kept this from being a five-star stay. The biggest was the thermostat, which appeared to be programmed to automatically raise the temperature. With temperatures near 100 outside, we could not keep the house comfortably cool and found ourselves constantly overriding the pre-programmed settings throughout the day and night. Locking the thermostat within a reasonable range while allowing guests to choose a comfortable temperature would be a much better solution. We were also disappointed that guests could not use the lower level, since it provides the most convenient access to the backyard and river. Having to walk around from the front made the yard much less usable. The grill was also located at the front of the house instead on the top or bottom patio, leaving the person cooking separated from everyone else.Communication could have been better. Two messages either went unanswered or weren’t answered until the following day. One was about getting the back porch TV working so we could watch a World Cup match, but the response came too late to help. The mattress and pillows in the larger master suite weren’t our favorite, although that’s subjective.
