Great time, with tons of open space for kids to explore and play like our childhoods were.

Beautiful property! Jorge is an excellent communicator. We really enjoyed the downstairs area where we could play pool and games by the fireplace with our family for Christmas. I’d say the only concern we had was that the water was on a well and left a rust smell, otherwise the home was well stocked with supplies and easy to access.

This place is so close to being great! First of all the good. The location is fantastic. It is right on the river and surrounded by a couple of streams as well. Made for a great place to stroll or to sit and read a book in the afternoon. There is also lots of great hiking within 30 minutes. Sliding Rock is about 35 minutes from this house. Kitchen is well stocked, TVs and internet were great, and beds were comfortable. Firepit with lots of firewood on the property. Close to Waynesville, which had lots of good places to eat. House is quite spacious as well. Three bedrooms on upper floor and basically two large living areas. The bad - as the other reviewers said, the water smells like metal. REALLY smells like metal. The house provided plenty of bottled drinking water, but it was bad enough that nobody wanted to take a shower by the end of our three night stay there. I did not read the reviews enough to catch this detail before we left. Lots of cobwebs and dust - but chalked this up to it being so deep in the woods. Washer was out of order when we were there also, which was quite annoying as we had planned to have that ability when we packed for the trip. Overall a great place with tons of potential if you can get over the smell of metal in the water.

Everything was good. Only one small issue, there was no trash can in the kitchen.

Beds were comfortable. Kitchen was relatively well stocked. WiFi and TV’s worked well. Owner was very responsive. Water cooler was provided in lieu of potable tap water. Some inside doors did not fully shut. Bunk bed ladder needs to be repaired, as it was not stable enough to use. We enjoyed playing pool, puzzles, and games from downstairs common area.Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

6/10 Okay

We enjoyed our stay, it was a great location and the property was nice being right on the river. However, a few key details were left out of the rental description. The property is a campground and the “cabin” is the 2nd story unit above the office. There were 2 other campers and tents on the property but nobody was using them so we had the place to ourselves which was nice. Some of the other issues were minor but need to be noted. The water was very rusty so we had to use bottled water for cooking and drinking (which was provided). The rust also caused the sinks, shower and toilet to be badly stained. The 2nd shower pictured is in a separate bathhouse. There was only 1 wall unit heater which heated the living area quite well but didn’t warm the bedrooms. The bathroom door does not completely shut so no privacy there. The listing also mentioned a stocked pond but there were no fish in it. To no fault of the owner, the neighbor has multiple roosters which start crowing very early. Overall, the property has great potential just needs a little more work. The unit is decorated nicely and is very comfortable. The downstairs is really nice with several couches, a large screen TV, a pool table and games.

Easy to communicate with and check in process was smooth. The only real redeeming quality about this place though was the location. It was nice being so close to the river and the blue ridge parkway and Pisgah national forest. However, the “stocked” pond was about 6inches deep. The grass on the property was a foot tall. There was a water dispenser however the water in the home couldn’t be used for anything! The smell was so bad and it was brown in color. You were better off showering in the river. There were only 2 AC wall units so unless you were in the living room or master room you were hot. Downstairs had no unit either. Dust bunnies and cobwebs throughout the house. Dirty dishes put away as clean, duct tape on couch in living room. The place has a lot of potential but I don’t think it should be listed as a rental property just yet. Especially for the price we paid.
