This was the perfect place for us! The location is great! Shops, transportation and dining all within walking distance. Nice quiet neighborhood, and the beds are very comfortable!
Lovely little Gem . In the heart of the city but so quite.
Had a fab time. The property was perfect for us. Beds amazingly comfortable. Fab location central to everything but nicely tucked away. Would certainly use again.

Parking is off site but close by. Parking permit was organised by the owner. Grocery shopping walkable nearby. Very central for Canterbury town Center.
Excellent accommodation. Ample room for family of five and its pet friendly. Nice little garden at back. Neil arranged parking at nearby car park. Close to town centre everything within walking distance
Loved the place. Loved the location. Loved the Host. Great location to go in and out of London by train for day trips yet enjoy the culture of a small city rich w history. Fabulous! TY Neil. We love The Augustine House!
We had a great time at Augustine's Cottage. The location is excellent, 5-10 minutes' walk from downtown and the cathedral, and even closer to Augustine's Abbey. The long walk along the river has some beautiful parks and then open countryside and is a nice break from the crowds on the high street. The cottage is very well equipped and comfortable. We enjoyed lunches in the back yard with sandwiches from nearby Phoebe's. Definitely a place to return to.
Well-stocked, great location (you can see Canterbury Cathedral spires from the front garden), charming decor and spacious floor plan easily sleeps four or five. My kids loved the extras (X-box with plenty of offline games), and my wife and I enjoyed watching some DVD’s from the owner’s collection, including the Spielberg classic ET, on the widescreen TV in the parlor. Warm gas fireplace in parlor and instructions on how to use. Much better option than any local hotel!
Augustine’s cottage is a lovely, old house in a set of row houses just outside of the walls of the City of Canterbury. Close to the cathedral and city centre but very quiet and absolutely charming. There is a lovely garden out front and a deck with a BBQ and back yard out back. The downstairs has a living room, dining room, sun-filled kitchen, and bathroom with shower. There are two bedrooms and a spacious bathroom with tub and shower upstairs. There is a Waitrose just around the corner for all of your shopping needs.Do visit the cathedral and abbey and take the opportunity to attend choral evensong at 5:30 pm. We enjoyed our stay immensely and highly recommend this property.
Perfect location to main street (mall) of Canterbury only being maybe 10 minute or less walk. Well stocked to cater for guests including books for light reading. Heating system was very effective. Garden patio with table and chairs in front and back were appreciated on the fine, sunny days. Booklet of general town information and instructions for the heating system and tv etc kept us well informed. Check in information was easy to follow. Initial communication on booking was also easy to navigate. Beds were comfortable. Two rooms and two bathrooms. We enjoyed our stay and recommend this cottage.
As soon as I mentioned a problem with the downstairs shower, the landlord had it replaced immediately with a new one. The location is fantastic and every appliance in the cottage worked without fault. We felt very happy and comfortable during our month-long stay with our son and daughter-in-law and granddaughter from Germany. The only downside - which has nothing to do with the accommodation or lovely landlord - was that I parked my car in Canterbury High Street, Best Lane car park. I paid JustPark to park my car for a month and I would not recommend this to anyone. The parking spaces are very tight and someone hit my car causing considerable damage and just drove off. As there is no CCTV surveillance of the actual parking spaces, I cannot find out who the culprit was. This was a disappointing end to the holiday but did not spoil our stay in beautiful Canterbury. Thank you Neil
We really enjoyed living there for our week in Canterbury. We had everything we needed, we were very comfortable, close to bus station and all the sites of the historic area. The rooms were very nicely decorated…Lovely gardens front and back and we even got used to the steep staircase to the lovely bedrooms and bathroom upstairs. All in all, an excellent place to stay!
Lovely property and just as described in the listing, including the incredibly steep staircase! Great communication from the owners. We'd be very happy to return again next time we are visiting Canterbury.
Highly recommended! As a family of three with a dachshund, we had a truly perfect week in Canterbury. The apartment was very clean, well-maintained, and equipped with everything we needed. The location is super central yet very quiet – all the shops and attractions are just around the corner. The parking was a huge plus, making our stay much easier. The owner, Neill, was extremely friendly and always available. Thank you so much, Neill, for the wonderful time!
